Easiest way to take P30 handle pieces off?

I'd like to try other handle options on the P30 but don't have a punch.

What other house hold items can I use to push the pin out?

I used a philips head screw driver from my small screw driver kit. It just happened to be the right size. You can get something like this http://www.superdroidrobots.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=777 at walmart or a corner drug store for cheap.

I use nails. Brass ones are best.

Go to Sears or Harbor Freight and buy a punch set. Should be pretty cheap (5 Piece for $4.99 @HF seen below). Works perfectly for me.

I've used a small screwdriver, a finish nail and a broken off Q-Tip to push the roll pin through, but I've never used a punch or a hammer.

.....or try a small-gauge allen key with a rubber mallet. Works a charm, and because the end of the key is flat, it doesn't damage the pin like a punch can. Only reason for the rubber mallet is I exert less force with that, so further reduces the risk of damage.

Buy a punch...they come in handy for all sorts of things, and you run less risk of butchering something.

Look at it this way - would you stick a screwdriver in you car ignition or go back in the house and get your keys?

yeah I had a little eye glass screw driver that fit just perfect.

The back strap is easy to remove with a small screw driver one pushes the pin out of the grip and off comes the piece. ;)

Buy a brass punch set off ebay. Always handy
