I have a fullsize USP9 V1 and am looking for another 9 to keep him company. I won't be carrying anytime soon as I live in OC California so I'm not looking for a subcompact. But I do want something a bit more comfortable than my fullsize.

I've gotten rather fond of the DA/SA w/de-cocker on my USP9 and was strongly considering the USPc as it is a bit slender and comfortable. Actually, I thought, if it's good enough for Jack Bauer, it's good enough for me.

But since I'm not carrying, I really don't need the "locked and cocked" capability. So I played around with a P2000 V3, the one with a de-cocker, and boy was that thing a pleasure to hold. Maybe it was the lack of the sandpaper grip. It did feel a little slimmer than the USPc.

From my limited time playing with both of them, and the antsy look from the guy at the gun store, I couldn't really tell which had a better trigger feel or a shorter reset or anything. This is what I'm really concerned about. I guess I could send it to a reputable gunsmith and that options definitely open.

A new P2000 w/de-cocker in a 9 has been difficult to find around here so I'm considering just getting the USPc instead. I've gotta think quick, my 1 every 30 days is almost up. :670:

I had the same predicament as you. I went with the USPc. Size wise there is no practical difference. People will try to tell you they "feel" one is smaller than the other, but "feeling" is prone to bias opinions. Check out this link for a good picture comparison of the two.

Go with whatever you feel is most comfortable in your hand. That's the big thing. Some people just cant comfortably hold the P2000 or the USPc. It depends on you.
I bought my USPc for CCW and I don't keep it cocked and locked normally. I keep it decocked safety off. Many people do the same.

Trigger reset is a bit longer on the P2000, but not enough to make a difference in shooting. I'd have no problem supplementing my USPc with a P2000 BTW.

EDIT: The P2000 also has a standardized accessory rail. The USPc needs an extra part to attach standard lights/lasers. Not to much of a big deal though.

Looks like yoofer fi from your link really likes his USPc over the P2000. So +1 for the USPc.

Have you had a chance to try out the P30? I loved the USPc 9 until I met the P30. I ended up buying one in DA/SA and I have an LEM on the way. If you're sensitive to the trigger you can send it to Bill Springfield. He does a great job in smoothing out the pull and eliminating any creep. Also turn around time from door to door is no longer than a week. Often times less! Anyway, good luck with your next HK purchase!

Unfortunately, the lack of a magazine disconnect makes the P30 unavailable in California.

Ya that guy on my link seems a little biased. But the pictures were the most relevant information.
Both are great. P2000s have the changeable back inserts so I guess that's another plus along with the fact that they're completely ambidextrous out of the box. You have a hard decision to make. Make it soon though.
