I am wanting to use the Mark 23 as my home defense gun, but it doesn't have night sights, and I don't have a light/laser for it. I know there are some really expensive and rare original versions out there for it and I don't need those. Does anyone have a favorite light/laser for the Mark23 that is more reasonable?

The Mk.23 is known as an offensive weapon, not a defensive one. A savvy prosecutor will take that to the bank. Someone here mentioned a case in Arizona where a guy used his 10mm in self defense, and the prosecutor argued that it was an offensive round that even the FBI didn't need. Guy got jailtime. You never want to use a bigger gun than the police use in self defense.

i believe this is what Cylinder was referring to, however i see very few similarities between mr. fish and you. Mr. Fish was in the woods and the attackers were dogs and an unarmed man. Injustice as it may be, does not really apply to your situation.

Sorry, i do not know of any accessories that would help you out. i know insight has a LAM model that fits (~ $1,500 and not sure they still make it).

Not a bad point at all. Even the USP Tactical may be a better choice in that regard.
