...and I #$*&%@! LOVE this gun. Bought a new one from Clyde's, V2 in .40 cal. Fits my hand perfectly, and the trigger pull on it is amazing...I haven't got to shoot it yet, but hopefully sometime next week. Range report to come afterwards. Bought it because my dad bought a Glock 27, and I liked the size but hated the gun. Plus I'm taking a CCW class here in a couple of weeks and wanted it for that. I'll hopefully have pics before too much longer, but I'm not sure where my camera is. One question, I see a few guys have bought the Blackhawk Serpa for the P2K and it fits the SK, just wondering which one you guys have bought and where from. I have a source that can get me a very good discount but for some reason its not showing up that I can get the one for the 2K. Thanks everybody who helped me make my decision. Keep up the good work guys.

I know how you feel. Just wait until you shoot it! I picked up a 9mm V2 from Clyde's not even 3 weeks ago actually. I got some flat magazine floorplates too and it makes it feel that much better. I hate the extended floorplates on the SK..feels much better with the flat ones. Since you don't have a pic of yours, I'll show off mine:)

Should be getting this (http://www.ttgunleather.com/catalog/i35.html) holster in soon. I ordered it at the beginning of January and I was told it would be a 3-4 month wait.

Great gun, great place to buy from...you did good. Can't help you on the holster, I use a Galco. Enjoy your new pistol, be safe.

I carried an SK for a year in a holster I got from High Noon Holsters, which was one of the few I could find in my price range with no wait at the time (3 years ago) and was very happy with it. +1 on the flat floor plate.

Hey CP, did clyde's do anything for you since it was older? Mine is an AG, so I'm not that worried about it, but I was just wondering.

Aww man I want that flat plate! Where can I get that? Can you buy the standard 9rd mag's with the flat plate already on? Or do you have to buy the flatplate's themselves and swap them out with the standard angled ones? Sorry I'm a newbie to all this, but I would LOVE to get flat plates!
Any help on this is greatly appreciated! I just recently bought my P2000 SK .40 and can't wait to shoot it!! I will be using it for CCW so I think the flat plate will work better than the pointy edge sticking out on the one that came with mine.

I would keep your existing mags and just swap out the base plates. These are good people to deal with.

I too ordered a P2000sk V3 from Clydes last Friday, 2/27. The pistol was at my FFL on Monday. I am going to the range tomorrow to try it out. Right now the trigger feels heavier than my USP 45. I hope it lightens up after I break it in.

i didnt see if anyone ever answered you on your holster question.
i have my p2000sk v3 in .40 in a blackhawk serpa 2 holster for the reg p2000... fits perfectly, tried it out at the recommendation of a buddy of mine who has one for his p2000sk v2 in 9mm...
as for the galco holster, if youre looking for a ccw galco the p2000 summer comfort IWB holster will fit the p2000sk perfectly as well. i'd have one right now but they are back ordered till sometime in april.
currently i have ordered an IWB holster from Pete10 i believe is his screen name on here. i am hoping to get it soon as the blackhawk serpa 2 isnt at all practical for concealed carry. :p

Thanks. Not looking to go with the Galco, I want the blackhawk for some classes I'm going to be taking that you have to have a OWB and I want it to lock in. As for CCW not yet, since Missouri thinks you have to be 23 to get it, but I've got my eye on a IWB that I really want.

UPDATE:
So I finally got to shoot the gun today and it is amazing. The LEM trigger breaks like glass, and I feel the reset on it isn't bad at all. My groupings weren't bad (about 5" for 100 rounds), but could be alot better. I wish I had bought this gun first, it is simply amazing.

Hey CP, did clyde's do anything for you since it was older? Mine is an AG, so I'm not that worried about it, but I was just wondering.I actually decided it wasn't worth calling them once I shot it:) It has the most recent rollmarks and it shoots like a dream so I had no real reason to waste everyones time just because it has "AF" on the side.

Lakeland: Just curious, do you wear jeans one size bigger than normal, for that IWB to fit comfortably? For example, I normally wear size 36 jeans, would I want to get 38s or 40s? Thanks - looks good!

Which base plates would you order for the sk? All I see are USP versions?

Which base plates would you order for the sk? All I see are USP versions? They have them listed right underneath the USPs. Make sure you are looking at the flat floorplate section and not the extended floorplates.

I ordered 2 p2ksk mags from calssportingarmory a couple weeks ago and they were listed as having the 'extended floorplate'. They came with the flat baseplate, which I hate, so if you want to trade plates I have a total of 5 (2 came with the gun and are unused, and one other came from a midway order that was also supposed to be extended) that are brand new HK original factory parts (and marked as such). The latest 2 are still in the HK bag..

easy remedy for this.
take about 25% of the food budget out to buy more ammo.
now, all of your pants fit WITH your gun inside....

So I would now like the opinion of a guy whose only other gun is a large framed .45... is the felt recoil of the .40 in the SK as bad as all these ".40 haters" make it out to be???

Since you asked - hell no..!!! I got the CDNN .357/.40 SK $699 deal and have shot the p*ss out of this thing for the past few months in both calibers. Recoil is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned, and it was dead accurate right out of the box. I shoot it better than my Sig 9mm's.
For comparison, my Kimber ultra-carry .45 has more kick - but still not enough to bother me in the least. My guess is that someone new to shooting handguns might benefit from the 9mm version, but then again they might do well to start out with a .22 revolver/ruger .22 auto to learn the basics - after that I believe the .40 s&w should be no barrier to shooting this pistol well. JMHO - enjoy!

Agree on all fronts.. My Kimber Ultra has more kick, but none are uncomfortable. I have no issue with the SK in .40 or .357.

My sk kicks about as much as some 9mm that I have shot, and not quite as much as some .45s I've shot.
If you want .40 get it you won't regret it. It just costs a bit more to shoot. And right now the .40 ammo seems a tad bit easier to find than the 9mm in some locals.

Buy the .40, the recoil is nothing. Granted my 45 is a USPT, so the recoil on it isnt bad either, but the SKs recoil is very minimal and is easy to control.

Last one on the list.. looks like this, "P2000SK 9/40 Flat Floor Plate for hi-cap magazine, new $7"
That's ones I would get. Oh, and I did e-mail that guy a week ago and he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Is he not in business anymore?

Thanks for the recoil information. I love the idea of the 40 stopping power over the 9, but I have a P239 Sig right now I am replacing with a P2000SK, and the P239 is a violent little SOB! Not so bad I cannot handle it, but between the stiff DAK trigger and the recoil, the sig is a handfull.
Your post made my decision for the P2000SK, 40 it is.
