Those of you that have or have used regularly both the P30 and the P30L could tell me if there is any real difference in how both guns feel (recoil) and there accuracy, as I already have the P30 and I am considering buying the P30L. (Please leave aside the theory about the length of the barrel/sight radius, and its weigh, as I am interested in hear real experiences and opinions of colleagues that have experienced and used both guns even admitting that this is a very subjective aspect)
Thanks

I'm think that I'm more accurate with P30L while shooting IDPA and IPSC. Also seems to recoil softer with same (or no noticeable increase) muzzle flip.

I rented a P30L as thats the only P30 series model they had to rent. I ended up buying the P30 since it was cheaper and I felt the difference of 1/2 inch wasnt worth the extra money.

As for accuracy these guns like all modern guns are more accurate than most users can be, and I always say if your shooting more than 75 feet away get a rifle. I am not the best shooter but not the worst I usually do 3-4 inch groups at 10 yards and that what I did with the rented P30L and thats what I shoot with my P30.

So if your having trouble with accuracy you need to dry fire practice some more and make sure you have proper grip. I use a S&W 642 with CT laser grips to do a lot of dry fire practice, just about 2-3 times a week I pull it out and fire 20-30.

As for feel... I think its would all be in the users mind thinking the P30 or the P30L would be that much different, yes that extra weight will help a little but if you blindfolded someone they probably couldnt tell. Usually I shoot .45's so 9mm recoil to me is very light and very controllable. The only gun I can think of with lighter recoil in a 9mm similar in size to the P30 would be the sig p226. So its kind of hard for me to compare the recoil since I am used to using higher calibers more often. But to me the recoil is perfect on the gun.

I have both and i could never detect any difference in the felt recoil between them. The first time i shot them back to back, i was more accurate with the P30 for some reason. But usually the accuracy is too close to call with these two. If i had to choose between the 2, i would go with the P30 for its smaller carry size.

How about the trigger comparison between the 2, do the have exactly the same trigger?
I remembers I read somewhere P30L has soem match trigger component?

Both have everything the same, same trigger same trigger pull. The only exception is the P30 has a longer barrel which of course gives it an overall longer length.

Thanks:
I really appreciate your opinions and comments. I think will rent the P30L just for fun and have my own experience about it, but after reading about your experiences I don`t think I will buy it as I perceive there is not a big or significant difference between both guns. By the way, the P30 is a great gun and I really enjoy it.

I got it b/c I wanted a full sized 9mm. I shot the HK45 and shot it well. It felt better to me in my hands than the p30 did. For me the p30 feels to light. The p30L feels to me like the HK45 does in terms of balance, and how it points. The grip is even better. I enjoy the added weight and it gives me a "solid" feel in my hands. Don't get me wrong, my groups were great with the p30 but I have better control with the p30L. Everyone is different, so this is a very personal decision. For my body type the p30L compliments me better, for you, it may be different. Try both, then decide.

I have both. I "enjoy" shooting the P30l a little more, not sure why, as most of this is subjective, I'll just say The Feel.

I love the look of the P30 with the longer slide. My P30l had some initial feeding problems but has since "broken in".

The P30 never had a problem. The P30 is a little easier to carry, I carry both, In VM II's and they work great. The P30 fits almost perfect in the USPc 9mm holster and the P30l in the usp f size.

I really like both guns but my fav is the P30L...
