Looking for some help here. Can anyone here who has a p30/p30l tell me what punch size is required to change side panels and back straps? I want to order one from my snap-on dealer. He does not have any small sets on his truck and I would have to order it. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Chris

Your owner's manual should tell you the size. The size for the HK45 is 1/8, there is a good chance it is the same. Of course it could also be smaller. :2:

You can just use a q-tip to push out the pin?

Thanks for the info! Oh and it doesn't say it in the manual, it just says "appropriate size punch"

I used a screwdriver from a glasses repair kit.

Ya the pin isn't seated super tight that a mallet for instance is needed to drive it out with a punch. The pin is seated just right, it wont fall out from use but you may use hand pressure to push it out. Even with a q-tip and as long as you grip it right and apply correct pressure with it. Any diagonal pressure and the plastic will bend of coarse without your desired result.

I suggest buying a set of roll-pin punches and regular punches from Brownells. Pretty affordable and priceless for working on your H&K pistols (or any other pistol for that matter).
