Does anyone think there is a difference in either USPc 9mm or .45's over the years, such as improvements found in guns of more recent production or decline in quality of guns produced more recently?
Basicly the Q is, are older USPc's preferred over newer in same condition, or is there no preference?

The USPc .45 had an issue with firing pin breakage back in the 90s, but it was fixed. A search should bring up the relevant information; its here somewhere regarding the dates/serial ranges.
Dunno if that extended to the 9mm/.40 guns too; I just remember it definitely was the .45.
Other than that, AFAIK the guns are the same now as then. The original USPf .40s had conventionally-rifled barrels, but that didn't last long, from what I've read.
Some folks have been tricked into buying a V7 DAO when they THOUGHT they were getting a LEM. It would now seem that HK has dropped the "regular" DAO completely; the HK45 manual refers to the LEM now as a Variant 7 action.
That's good, because the original V7 DAO was horrible indeed...

They also had all steel hammers.
