View Full Version : Removing firing pin from USPc 9mm ?
To make a long story short, my pistol is dirty. The firing pin is "slushy" from all the dirt and mud from riding atv's. I need to take out the firing pin and remove all the crud that is inside. Where to I begin ? The slide is already off and just needs to be broken down even further. Thanks in advance.

You need to punch out the two roll pins in the slide.
Any specific way to punch them out ? I don't have any punches, is there anything else I can use ? Also, it seems they are coiled, can they be re used ? thanks

Here you go.
If you don't have punches then drill bits can also work. But you might as well go to Walmart or a hardware store and buy a punch set, they're cheap.
Also, Brian doesn't have the correct roll pins listed in his original post. Later in the thread he does get the correct ones so you have to read all of the thread for the information.

I would punch out both as the Extractor gets very dirty too. It is not that big deal. Set it on a roll of duct tape and hold the extractor then punch it out. Then punch out the rear pin. If you have a bunch of crud in the FP then you will also have a bunch in the extractor area too.
