Out of curiosity does anyone happen to know what the "DE" stamping is on the slide just after the date code and proof mark on the new P30L's?

markings are: "serial number" "AI" "ulm proof" "DE"

The search tool is your friend. It means "Deutschland" aka Germany.

I did a search on 'de stamp' and found plenty. As with all search tools one needs to be a bit creative. Nevertheless, glad you got your answer.
