I saw an add on gunbroker for a NIB limited edition stainless USP. The seller has not replied to my inquiry yet, but if it is really new and not just someone's possibly unfired safe queen, I just might pop for another USP. Anybody heard about these. How limited are they?

What's the date code? I bought brand new USP9f that was 4 years old (AF). No big deal. The only time it might matter is if it's equipped with tritium sights.

My shop has them in - selling for $1199. AK date code - limited supply. JAX Shooters is also advertising them for $949. My shop has the full size USP40 and the compact size USP9. They ARE for real and they ARE beauties!

I have a full size USP stainless .40 S&W. Absolutely love it. Date code is AK, meaning 2009. I shot off about 125 rounds today (50 winchester Ranger T's), she has about 750 through her thus far. Clean as a whistle! A local shop is selling full size USP .40 and compact 9mm both in stainless for $889. It's called Target Master's in Chaddsford, PA.
Still have not seen any new stainless .45's tho

That's what I'm waiting on, USP SS 45 Compact. I was told by HK they are on the way and should be in this month.
Also, on the ones on Gunbroker, they are listed with 10 round mags. I wonder if the dealer just stole the hi-cap mags out of them or is HK shipping them now with 10 rounders?

A gun dealer would never do that, would they? (Asked by someone who also has about 20 10-round magazines just lying around!)

IIRC USP Compact 45s only have 8-rd magazines....

The 10-round mags for the HK45c work in the USP Compact. I know, I have six of them :D

I'd love another 45 compact but in SS. Then again I don't own a .40 yet :61:

Now I want one too.
It looks to have the "rolled" engraving on the slide instead of the laser etched like most of the newer pistols.

What date code represents the last year that the stainless slide versions were made previous to the current re-release?
Has anyone noticed anything different about the new release models as compared to the old?

IIRC, 2001 was the last year of the full size USPs in SS. 2004 was the last year of the compacts.

I recently saw a stainless steel slide USPc in 9mm at my local gun shop that seemed to have a flaw on the last cocking serration on the back left side of the slide. The defect looks like a bit of a swirl like pattern and is very small (maybe 2mm or so in diameter). I am unaware of the date code on this NIB pistol because I forgot to look. Is this normal on these SS USPc's or is this a cosmetic defect that I just so happened to find?

this might be a stupid question - does stainless steel slides get carbon all over it like a nickel finish does?
don't get me wrong - I do like to clean my guns but I hate cleaning the nickel finish on the wife's 38 snub

If you mean will the carbon show up then yes, it will. However, the carbon deposits have been easy for me to clean off of all of my ss guns. The only gun I have any problems with is my 460 XVR along the cylinder, but the markings are from the extreme heat of the 460 S&W round. I don't think you will have a problem cleaning the ss slides at all.

They're tool marks from the milling machine. I just bought a 9mm USPc (AK date), and it has them too. They're more obvious inside the slide.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to take a look at the date code the next time I go to the gun shop and see when it was made. I'm guessing it must be new just like the one you have.

Anybody see any full size 9mm or 45's yet ??? H&K customer service said they were importing all again..but I haven't seen any full size ones except the 40.
Here is a link to Shooters http://www.shootersjax.com/Heckler-and-Koch.aspx
They have the full size USP 9 in stainless, along with all of the currently available USP’s in SS. Also, they have the best prices I’ve seen on the AK SS USP’s. Unfortunately, I just bought one for about 50 dollars more, before I discovered Shooters.
I spoke to HK last week and they told me that the USP 45C and 45 FS will be in this month. I also asked them why all the SS USP’s I’ve seen have 10 round mags and they told me that is the way they are receiving them from Germany.

They list the USP Compact in 9MM for about $840. I'm really tempted to get one even though I can't spend the funds.
