without spending mucho dinero? I am new to the night sight seen, but am used to the 3 dot (to which i greatly prefer over the 2 dot, etc). I dont want to try to install the sights myself, because i always seem to find a way to screw something up. the result i want is this:http://tooltechgunsight.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=21&Itemid=55%3Ehk_usp_night_sights%3C
but i dont want to spend $280+ to get it.
any opinions on who makes better night sights? trijicon, ameriglow, ...? how are the meprolight sights? will the standard usp night sights fit in the USPT dovetails? i appreciate any helpful suggestions you guys have
For a good quality, inexpensive, durable, fixed bright night sight, the Meprolight is very hard to beat. In daylight the 3 dots are easy to pick up, and the sight picture is very usable..$60-$70 a set, with various configs is a big plus too.
I usually get green front/orange rear in the Meprolight.
If you want a great adjustable night sight, MMC are really the best out there.

Watch out for the hacks who say they can install your sights without damaging them AND your slide...these places have pretty store fronts and professional looking gun smiths...that is until they hand your slide back to you with nicks on it and punch marks your new sights, and have the nerve to charge you $50 and smile at you doing it...buyer beware beware beware.

I like the trijicon sights, but it doesnt seem they make them for the usp tactical 45. doesnt look like that company does either

The better night sights are all good, but why not stay with what you are used to and comfortable with. The flash at night is blinding anyway; so in reality the use of night sights is a marketing gimmick. I do have night sights on pistols, that came equipped with them; but I would never alter a pistol otherwise.

There are two (2) set of them for sale on this forum as I write this - here is the link! ;)

The Meprolight sights are the way to go. I put them on my Elite, Tac and Expert(s). They are no harder than any other sights to install ~ anyone gunsmith should be able to do it. I installed mine but I have a sight tool.

how do you like them? I am going to pick up my "new" AA date coded USP tactical on monday or tuesday, and have a feeling that I am not going to like the lo-viz sites. I want to try some night sights, and for this pistol the meprolights seem to be the only option? I was really starting to get into the trijicon lamps, because of the higher daytime visibility of the white dots...
The Meprolight night sight has a very nice white ring around the lamps, easy to see.
I sent mine to the gun smith who builds my custom Colt 1911 pistols, I knew for a fact they would be done right with no idiot marks anywhere, for $35 and a few dollars each way to ship the slide, it was well worth the money...a lot less than refinishing a slide or buying more sights.
Im sending you his info in a PM if you want to have him install, turn around was 2 days, then he ships the slide back.

that would be great, just need to acquire the gun and sights now :42: If you have his info, i will keep it in mind if i decide to go that route. also, when looking at a pic of the sight, i see it has a stamp/engraving on it? to my eyes, it looks like it says HK?
