When I pull the trigger the hammer functions normally but the trigger doesn't return on it's own. The gun has approximately 2500 rounds through it.
I looked at the parts breakdown, I can't see anything except the trigger spring that causes the trigger to return...

When dry firing? If so, try pulling the trigger. While holding the trigger to the rear, work the slide, thus cocking the hammer. Now, slowly release the trigger. If it functions correctly, everything is fine.

Yes, and it has the same malfunction with the slide removed as well.

Yes, and it has the same malfunction with the slide removed as well.Time to call HK.
I agree, sounds like its malfunctioning - I would contact H&K Customer Service and arrange to get the P30 over to them to correct the issue.
Thats what the H&K Lifetime Warranty is all about. :)

Took it to a local gunsmith. Broken trigger spring. HK Trussville says they are on order from Germany and don't know when they will get any. Sounds like bad trigger springs are a common problem with the P30 if they don't have such a common part in stock. To not know when they will get any more parts? What should be a simple fix is turning into a royal pain in the a@@.
Anyone know where else I can get a replacement trigger spring?
TIA

put a P2000 in it for temp. P/N 209266 I have one in mine(makes light LEM). It will not hold the slide release from coming out of gun on dissassemble. I don't care about that. Will keep ya going till correct one gets there.

I really don't understand why there are parts shortages. Hope the fix comes in for you very very soon.

Would this affect the trigger return spring anymore than firing a round? I thought the problem with dry firing had to do with the firing pin?

I just spoke with Link at HK in GA. He scrounged around and found me "the last trigger spring in their possession". He is going to ship it to me via OOPS, I mean, UPS. Hopefully that means I'll be back in business next week :)
I sure wouldn't want to wait up to 6 months for a part from Germany :(
Thank you Link! :350:

No, dry-firing does not affect the the trigger return spring more than firing a round does, but often when dry-firing, a gun will have the trigger pulled many more times in a shorter time period than in regular live-fire. I've known of several people who dry-fire alot, breaking trigger return springs in all brands of handguns, much more often than people who don't do alot of dry-firing.

Gotcha. I do a lot of dry firing, so I think I'm going to put in an order for a TRS and also get a P2000 one just in case.

Are you saying that you dry fire the pistol with the slide removed?? You will break your gun for good if you keep doing it.
