Just picked up my P30 today. AK date code and greasy as all get out! :) I will post pictures soon... can't take them yet as the wife doesn't know I bought another gun (that's two HK's in less than a month). Having held it for a while I am sad to say it makes me want to get rid of my USP... but that will never happen :2300000: I have it hidden in the back of my nightstand behind ammo and a whole bunch of magazines and books. She will never find it. It will come out when the time is right. Wish me luck!

I thought that I was the only one hiding new toys.

Always have lots and lots of guns so if your wife gets mad you can sell one and still have lots and lots of guns. :13:

Congrats on the new toy. I hope for your sake she does not decide to do spring cleaning and find it. After some time has passed you might be able to pass it off as one of the others without raising suspicions!

time to get a gun safe...."to keep the guns safe"...but really to hide the guns from your wife!

Glad to see we all share the same problem, too many H&K's to hide from the wife! :72:

Divorce? Who cares, so long as I get to keep my toys!

That's the point, right? Get a divorce, get your toys taken away.

Here's what you do .. put a Hogue grip on the USP and flash that in front of her, put it in a bag and pull out the P30 .. see if she notices the magic trick. If she questions it, tell her its the same gun she saw two seconds ago. Then hide the USP for a while. (assuming she's not a gun chick) If she does notice, make sure you arranged for alternative sleeping quarters in advance :4000:

btw, Is there a thread on "Guns/Toys you've hidden from your wife" or "Tactics to hiding or sneaking guns from wife"? I was looking for a thread yesterday but didn't see any to speak of but this topic comes up often in threads. Conversly, are there any women that hide guns from their husbands??

I was a decent way to the dog house 2 months ago when I bought an 870P online and was to pick it up from my FFL on the upcoming Sunday. The day before, I went to a gun show in Belton, TX looking for 870 add-ons and came home with a P30. She was even so patient to go on-line at home and do a DMV address change and fax it to me so I could buy the P30 with an up-to-date driver license. Two toys in one weekend can put a wife pretty close to the edge! Since then, I've snuck in 4 deliveries of 870 accessories: a Hogue 13" stock, Vang Comp safety and follower, a Wilson +2 extension and a Fabarms forend. I've also snuck my P30 slide out and back for night sight install. I did have to fess up that a 28" 870 barrel will be delivered in the next couple of days and she wasn't very happy with that. She doesn't want anything to do with the shottie since it "looks mean" but she'll quickly notice the difference in sights if she picks up the P30. She IS a gun chick and was stoked to get a Marlin lever .44 for a Valentine Day present last year. It presents challenges.

Congrats on the P30!

Hope you can find some 9mm where you are to shoot it. ;)

I'm going to give hkozzies wife more credit then that... I'm guessing she can probably tell that a USP in Stainless Steel and a P30 with black HE finish are not the same gun based on color alone. :D

You can put your guns in a trust and they will be protected from divorce.

Finding 9mm is a real pain in the arse. I have plenty of .40 S&W over 1000 rounds between PD and FMJ ammo... not one round of 9mm and I am not paying through the teeth for it either! Any suggestions?

ummm. Normally that would be true because of the confidential nature of the trust. But if a trust is formed to hide assets that could be construed as containing community property than a judge could subpeona a list of assets and how they were gained.

In either case I'm not looking for a divorce, cheaper to keep her. I just want to keep my toybox full and stay out of the doghouse.

BTW, has anyone seen that Doghouse commercial that was put out by Sears I think? Hysterical.

If you check Natchez several times a day for 9mm, you'll find that once a week or so, one of the 'bargain' ammos will come in stock. Yesterday it was Remington UMC($23.50/100rounds). I bought 500 rounds. I won't use it in my new P30. I've been watching the ammo availability for a while and picked up a number of other 124gr rounds before which will be first down the pipe.

I also picked up a box here and there at gun stores, but I paid ~$18/50

Remember, the rules when it comes to buying anything. You can have two of the following:

-Cheap
-Fast
-Quality

Same applies to ammo....it took me 3 months to get some of the better 9mm ammos at a cheap price.

Congrats on the P30. I don't have to sneak at the moment but remember sneaking when I was married. My current GF could care less as long as fair is fair. She's new to shooting but she could take or leave guns in general.

The wife broke it down for me today lol. She says she doesn't care about the guns she doesn't want to hear about them :) Sounds good to me!
