I have 4 magazines for my 9mm USPf and I bought a 3 pack of Wolff +10% springs because I know one of them will consistently not lock it back, but I don't remember which one. I was trying to figure out which ones to do. I figured I would do the oldest and then the rest. They have these letter codes under 9x19 but they dont appear to correspond with the marking system on the slide. One is "IE," the other 3 are "AE." Maybe Ill just retrofit the 3 "AE" marked mags and then it is easy to remember which are the good ones.

The symbols on the mags are not the same as the gun! If they were the op's IE coded mag would have been made in 1984 which was almost a decade before the gun was first made.

That's what I would do. You can buy single springs straight from wolf.

Actually, I missread the one, because it is an "IR" mag. So it has no relationship to that date coding system whatsoever. I just bought the three pack as it is slightly cheaper that way and the other mag can be dedicated range only...

From what was posted in the below-listed thread, in the "modern-era", the date-codes should link up with the regular codes. The older date codes seem to have been off the rails.

In this case, it seems evident that there are 3 newer mags, and 1 older mag.

Cool, according to that the IR is a '93 and the AEs are '04. Hmm, wonder how I ended up with a '93 mag. No matter. Thanks!
I ended up just doing all 3 AEs with the springs. I pulled the IR apart and the spring was rusted. So I exchanged it with one of the pull outs from the newer mags.
