Just wanna make sure as I believe I just scored a very nice P9s Target in 9mm for less then 900 :-)
Is the buffer the same size in both the 45 and 9mm versions???
I wanna get a couple spare buffers and thought they were the same size as I have both models/calibers..but just wanna make sure
Thx!!!
Will post a pic when I get her...very excited!!!!:)

I just put a new buffer (purchased from Gun Parts Corp.) in my 9mm P9S and had to trim one end a bit for it to fit properly. I have heard that this is not an uncommon occurrence.

Hello!
My first post. Hope it's not a dumb question. When I bought my P9S 9mm the sales guy said the most like part to go is the buffer but he pointed at the buffer housing. Which is more likely to go or would it be a good idea to buy 1 of each? I know that would be expensive but I would hate to have to send this gun off for service. Too many negative stories about H&K customer service. Are there any other parts that may be good to stock up on without breaking the bank?
Thanks!

HK did have the buffers, for $5, Numrich has them as well, think close to $20 now. The buffer housing is not a real worry, just make sure when you put the new buffer in, the housing is fully seated, housing can be found as well, under $50 I think. Its a bit tricky the 1st time you replace the buffer, but not really hard
so for now, pick up a buffer and replace it
mags, get any you find under $60
P38 mags do work for range mags, hold 1 less rd and the bolt hold open will not work
you can get barrels from Numrich as well, these work well if you want to have a supressor fitted, TROS can thread it for not alot

The buffer housing isnt really a high breakage part, unless you are shooting a .45. The web that catches the inside of the slide on a 45 buffer is markedly thinner in profile than on the 9mm. Even so, having an extra housing in .45 may be a waste of money, as you wont likely shoot enough to need a replacement. Especially at todays ammo prices...

Anyone have any pics showing how to replace the P9S buffer? One of the links in Bentonville's e-mail used to have pics but they are no longer there.
