Is it ok to use a P7 mag in a P7M8? :20000000:

It won't lock in. The mag latch locations are completely different with the P7M8 being at the top, and the P7 being at the bottom.

Dave they both look alike in every aspect. Both lock in mag well, both eject. One has P7M8, 9x19, io stamped - other has P7,9x19,IE. Both latch catch are topside. Can that be right?

If it latches in then you should be fine.

Yes, entirely possible. They are in fact P7M8 magazines regardless of how they are marked. I have several P7M8 mags marked the same way, P7, 9x19, IE. They are P7M8 magazines, and they will not work in a P7, and true P7 mags will not work in a P7M8. Sounds like the ones you have will work fine. I tried some P7PSP mags in a P7M8, and while they insert just fine, they don't even begin to lock in place. They just freely slide right back out, so there's no way you could mistake one for the other when you actually insert it into the magwell.
If there's a little protruding bump near the top in the front, it's a P7M8 magazine. If the top front of the magazine is smooth, and there's a rectangular cutout in the back, it's a P7 (PSP) magazine.
