When looking at the bore axis of the USP fullsize 45 and the HK45 does the HK45 sit lower in the hand than the USP? Or does the HK simply feel better due to the improved ergonomics of the grip?

The HK45, along with the P30 and even the P2000/sk sit a little lower in the hand. It's mostly due to the rounded contour towards the top of the grip. The rounded contour allows for a higher grip, thus letting it sit lower in your hand. Personally, I believe this is why the P2000 seems to be more pleasant to shoot than the USPc in the same caliber.

yes, the bore axis is slightly lower in the HK45.. and I mean slightly. however, at least for me, I find the HK45 easier to shoot than the USP. I attribute this to the slightly lower bore axis, and the improved grip design. this is just my personal opinion, after shooting both.
