Hey I'm looking to do IDPA/IPSC with my Elite .45, but it seems hard to find a holster (I'd like a Safariland). I'm now looking at Blade-Tech, any other suggestions? I'd also like to use this holster for general and hunting use since I'm not sure I like my HSGI dropleg yet. Thanks

Andy,

I purchased the Blade Tech Bobby Mcgee IDPA kit for my H&K Expert .45, comes with a belt holster, padddle attachement & double mag pouch.
also found a close out Safariland paddle holster on e-bay.
I carry this cannon daily in a IWB leather custom holster.
It took me months to find a holster for this gun as your probably are now aware there's not a great selection out therefor the Elite or Expert.
I also wanted to shoot IDPA,but have now been told gun is too wide with the ambidextrous safety. Your gun will be too long to qualify.
trying to remember who made the IWB for me ....its very nice & comfortable.

I have the 5188-96-411. It does not fit the Elite but fits my Expert like a glove. I want to get a second one and get out my Dremel and do a little mod to hold the Elite. It will hold the Elite though not as secure as I would like. The barrel actually rests in a molded area of the holster and with the longer slide on the Elite, it will not allow the pistol to drop far enough into the holster. Again, with a little relieving of that area it would work for either.

I too had heard that it was too long for IPSC and that part of the reason that Experts came with bobbed hammers was to fit the size box.

Ok, I went ahead and ordered a Bladetech holster, despite the fact that there aren't many options for the Elite they seem to be highly recommended for competitive shooting.

Thats excellent info Wecamp Thanks

I have had trouble finding a good holster for the Expert and was thinking the same thing about the Elite...using a drummel and doing some work so the nose could fit out the bottom...gonna check out the Safiland holster i really like their stuff...
