I want to put some kind of a laser or flashlight unit on a USP45 for using at night. It's rather dark in my home at night so I think an add on would be just the ticket. I once was considering other options like Crimson Trace, but there is no offerings for my beloved HK, but I love my 45 too much to give it up. My first choice would be a laser, but I don't know of any quality lasers that fit the HK frame...... I'm open to all arguments on the issue..... The HK board is the best thing that ever happen to me.... Thanks for all your replys.......

There's one out there for the USP in 45, and it's not too expensive. I don't remember the name, someone here will chime in. My 2 cents would be to make sure you want a laser. I had one for my USP 45 compact and I just hated it so I got rid of it. The laser light dancing around will drive you nuts because it shows how much you really shake no matter how still you hold the gun. It also distracts you from proper shooting technique. But I guess none of this matters in the middle of the night. Still, I'd go for the flashlight.

7.62.....
Last weekend I had the chance to hold my neighbor's Kimber in 40 smith with Crimson Trace side panel laser. I instantly fell in love with that gun. Since then I found out that it's not offered for the HK's which is a major bummer for us. I was considering a Glock, but I came to my senses and said NO WAY!!! I have no issues with the dancing laser, bit I understand where your coming from.
Is this light your talking about, have a quick disconnect, or is it clamped on for life????? I think I'm more for a light anyways, but not real sure. I wanted to hear from more learned than I..... But it is a thought though.... Willing to try.....

I recommend looking at Streamlight TLR-1, TLR-2, and TLR-3. TLR-2 has a light and laser. TLR-3 is a new and smaller light for compact pistols. They're relatively inexpensive and built very good. And GG&G as well as Surefire make tough rail adapters for the USP.

I never held a crimson trace, just the under the bbl mount type.
Streamlight makes a very good product, and they are company here in PA that my mom used to do the accounting for so they always get my business.

Good to know that something is made in the US for once....
Still want to know if it has a quick mount so I can take it off at will.
