I have done all the searches and would really like one of his holsters for my P7M8. I also read that he passed earlier this year.:( Is there any way to still get one his OWB holster or is the compay now closed since his passing?

They (the family / the workers) are using ebay and gunbroker to shift what remains, but it is mostly odds and sods. All the good stuff has long gone from what I have seen. Unless you are very lucky on one of the boards I'd say that you have missed this boat. I sure wouldn't part with mine and I suspect a lot of folks feel the same. Rumour has it that his family will continue the business, but who knows if and when that will happen and what the product will be like. Oh and FYI there is no "e" on the end of his name.

I had ordered one a year ago before Alessi went into the hospital, and never got the order. After a few phone calls his family said they were continuing production but have been having issues getting leather, but that was months ago.

UPDATE: After posting the above reply a few minutes ago I decided to call one last time to see if my order was going to be filled or not. Here is what I found out:

1. Alessi Hoslters is continuing! Lou's Daughter and friend Tom are going forward with the company.
2. They're moving to a bigger facility!
3. They have a new website: http://www.alessigunholsters.com/
4. They're taking orders!

You want an Alessi designed holster? Go to their new website and email Tom (link at the top of the page).

16 week wait.:(

That kind of delivery time is nothing for custom leather, but whether the new product is up to sniff and worth a wait will be interesting to see.

Im just not sure if 16 weeks is possiable if people here have been waiting over a year already.

16weeks is like a day. I waited over a year & half for my last Alessi rigs.

Of course I have no idea what their plans are, but I do know that earlier this year before Mr. Alessi passed all orders were at least 1 year away. Perhaps they are starting over with a fresh order bank, or perhaps they are being overly optimistic? Who knows, but if 16 weeks from today is even close to accurate then it would indicate that a lot of folks have been lost along the way. Tooling up and training staff takes time, and so I doubt that the operation has added enough extra infrastructure already to be able to churn all of this stuff out so quickly if they are indeed picking up the original order book. However there are plenty of other options, but if 16 weeks scares you off then most of the timescales for others will surely make you cry. Of course some of these makers are worth more of a wait than others, but that's why you have to jump in and experiment. If you want one of these, order one, forget about it for a while and then figure out if it is worth it to you when it finally shows up. We have all been there.....

After a few lengthy emails between old guys before the hospital, Lou was super kind and finished my two HK CQ holters in record time. He is/was my favorite. Give the Family a chance with your order, do not doubt it will be excellent. The Allesi hoster name should continue.

You're such a newbie :100000::47:

How you doin' DD?

Lou's CQC/S is great, and so is his shoulder holster "body guard" with the pull through snaps... not mention the Versa Max 2.

RIP, Lou.

From what Tom told me on the phone they had a lot of orders ready to go, and he seemed positive that my Talon Plus was ready to go fro my USP, but in the move and aftermath of Lou's passing things haven't quite gotten back to normal as of yet, but I promise to do a full write up of the holster once I get it in the mail! However, seeing the changes to their new website I don't see any of their original product offerings.

Hey, DD. Been meaning to ask you what type belt you are using with your CQC/S.

Hope things are well with you and the family.

Well guys just got off the phone with Tom at Alessi holsters and hes going to make one for me. Tom is a very nice man to talk to and said he will try to make it for me asap wich still means 12 to 16 weeks. Apperently they just moved shop to a different location and he will try to get it done.

I'll post pics and keep everyone updated when the holster arrives.

16 weeks seems very optimistic. Back when Alessi was in full swing, the wait time was about 26 weeks. They always seemed to have a back log of military and law enforcement orders and were selling as many holsters as they could make. And that was with no advertising. Talk about a good reputation.
Maybe now they are slow enough to actaully meet a 16 week interval.
On the new website I notice that they only list four models. Am I missing something?
I wonder if they are no longer making models like the WSDT and the CQC/S...
I wish them luck, but I think they'll need to expand their line to include some of the more popular Alessi designs if they really want to carry on the tradition that Lou has established.

I'm pretty sure Tom will make any holster that Lou used to make if you ask.
