Does pistols like our Hk's with sub-1000 serial numbers add some resale value?
I was thinking particularly about the HK45's since the guns are now made in the US but wondering about the additional aspect of the fact that there are sub-1000 serial numbered German made HK45's.

Unless the number is uber low or the gun is ultra rare with a 'special' number then I shouldn't think so. However some numbers will mean something to somebody and those folks may pay a bit more for that if they ever find that gun.

I imagine that serial # xx-0000045 might be worth a premium to some people.

A guy on one of the internet auction sites was trying to get a few grand for a NIB Glock, serial number nnn 666.

My newest HK has a serial number of 762 which I thought was pretty sweet. Now I need to go find 556. 911 would be neat to. Don't think it should ever impact the value the gun though. Just cool aspects when you find one with a unique number.

I have a Jubilee P7-M8 serial number 4. Is it worth anything more than serial number 500? Not really. Unless there are special meanings attached to a certain serial number, one number has no significant value over another. To some that 666 would demand a premium, and to some #1 would fetch a hefty premium, but I doubt even my #4 is worth a dime over a #500. I got it just like everyone else got theirs, went into the store and there it was. Often serial number 1 will be reserved for someone within the company but usually not any after that. Unlike art prints which degrade slightly the more that are printed, guns do not degrade any from the making of number 1 to the making of number whatever.
Except to the collector who takes a certain amount of pride in having a prototype or low serial number, there is really nothing special about them, except for actual changes made in the production of the pistol but let's not turn this into an essay.
But just being sub 1000, not a chance it is worth a penny more.

#2008 HK45 *might* be a collectors item, it came out in '08 right?

It all depends on the buyer. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a low number. Something under 500 and preferably under 100. If I got number #1 I would probably send Bo a PM. Awhile back I thought I did get a #1 HK USPc 9mm. I bought my Wife sn 27-0XX001. I was hoping the XX was some sort of prefix. Looking back it was a pretty funny mistake. The Wife is happy though, she had to have two like Lara Croft. It makes her happy so I am ok with it. Although I still think she should have gotten a 40 or 45 instead of two 9mm's.
