Had Tom Bostic cook up a rifle for me that I had in my mind for several years.

He grafted the Magpul PRS stock to the SL8 along with his Ergo grip.
Purposely went with the SL8-1 handguard and rail as I thought they looked
cleaner and wanted to replicate the "feel" of the the orignal PSG series, with a hint of the MSG90. Note the scope.
To top if off, it wears the G36 flash hider.

Also had Tom engrave it HK Polizei for extra fun.

Now I finally have a use for those pesky 10 round G36 mags.

Thanks! Reposted the pics a little smaller didn't realize the camera was set on HUGE. Actually poor Tom had to do the rifle twice as the 800lb gorilla at the post office managed to sit on it the 1st time and break the stock and buckle the magwell reinforcement!! Second time was the charm and it all came out perfect.

WAY COOL! ME LIKEY!!!

Maybe a trade for a custom factory fluted PTR91 with cash on your end? Made to fire only the best factory 308, none of that cheap surplus junk:74:

Looks good! I've been working on something like this myself. Trying to take advantage of the SL8 as it is! Couple q's though. First, I guess I've been out of the SL8 workd a bit but where is the paddle mag release and what is that extra thing inside the trigger guard? Second, I'd sure like to help you get rid of some of those pesky 10 round mags! Can't seem to ever find the double stack 10's for a reasonable price.

Oh, and that remark is AWESOME!! How does he do that?!

Thanks everyone for the good words, I can't tell you how well the rifle just "molds" to you and feels good, hopefully will be able to take it to the range soon? Also super thrilled about the scope set up, it's just PERFECT for it, and being a German scope, created solely for HK use makes it even cooler!

Jolly - had Tom graft the PRS to the rear section of the SL8 buttstock, do the magwell conversion, the bolt release conversion (XM8-ish style) and the remark. Was inspired by some German magazines showing Police and their weapons, thought it would be a hoot to mark it HK Police. the rifle was originally a SL8-1 so he dyed it first I think before the texture coat.

Looking at the rifle, even though it's not a factory gun, you cannot miss the fact that it's HK and it could be something they actually make, it's all signature HK. This is what I like the best about it. HK should hire me to develop new product, I would make you all proud ;) I would sell them a ton of guns!

Is this gun a SBR or are you using compliance parts?

tiger88,

That's a great setup, man!

I want Tom to build me the same grip and lower setup, but replace the stock with a buffer tube so I can put a Magpul PSR stock on it. That would be a hot setup as well.

Daug, (and others) thanks! - if you use the AR PRS, remember it's wider than the SL8 stock rear section and longer ~ Tom would have to cut it down to retain correct LOP, the G3 PRS just happens to be exactly the same width as the SL8 stock rear section. (He'd have to mod the buffer tube too, make it shorter and maybe cut out a section for the cheek piece - see below)

He would also have to move the height of the spine up a bit as the cheek adjustment on the AR PRS is much less than the G3 version (lessons learned from the HERA Klappenbar project) due to the buffer tube. And if you use the SL8-6 sight rail, it's even worse.

It's doable, but alot of mods needed imho. I'd ask Tom on the feasability.

Gunshlinger - the rifle is set up for double compliance, US and CA - note there is no mag release - it's a fixed mag rifle, you need a tool to remove it so it's legal behind the golden curtain.
