I know I'm being lazy. I've done many a good search and search at different forums, but haven't found an answer.

I'm going to be buying my first hand gun and will likely buy from internet. So, I need to do a FFL transfer. The dealers around here seems to be charging 80$ for ffl transfer, :74:which seems ridiculous for doing just some paper work and receiving the shipment for me.

It would save me a great deal or effort and time, if some one can point me to a gun shop/person in rockland county area for ffl transfer. Cheaper is nice, but I'm looking for some one I can keep using that has good service.

Thanks for reading.

Ken.

P.S. I'm in nanuet area. Very southern rockland county. But, I'll drive a bit for a good service and price.

These folks aren't too far from you. Last I knew they charged about $50 for an ffl transfer, which is about average in my experience unless you know someone personally.

Best of luck!

I'm almost willing to pay 50$. However, through digging around I was given this site.

www.fflclick.com

not only this place lists the ffl, it gives the transfer fees for many places.

Hope this helps out others following in the same path.

I use Davis myself, but usually the range up in Goshen, not the shop in Sloatsburg. The Firing Line charges too much IMO. Granted they handle the pistol clerk paperwork for you, but $5 and 5 minutes of my time isn't worth the extra $30 over using Davis.

Gunbroker (http://www.gunbroker.com/user/DealerNetwork.asp) also has a FFL search feature, but I found that most of the info on that site is out of date.

If you find a good one for a decent price, please share. I live in Pomona myself.

Where do you usually shoot?

Javic,

Thanks for the reply. Forgive me for not checking back this thread.

Anyway, Firingline was the other ffl I was talking about. I've since searched and found two other FFL that seems to offer good service and price. However it's in Long Island.

Here are their web sites :

Volkl supplies (They don't mention being an FFL, but they are.)
http://www.volko.com/about_us.htm

South shore sportsman
http://sssli.com/privacy.php?osCsid=4caec8ab51bc740adb391c66e3323db b

You can find info about they if you google for :
"South shore sportsman FFL transfer" or "volko supplies ffl transfer".....

Having said that, I'm going to be purchasing my FIRST handgun, so I don't usually shoot at all yet. I don't even have my permits yet... My permits has been submitted, but looks like the county is backed up on processing permits. Only god knows when I'll actually get it back !!

When I do get my gun maybe we can hook up to go shooting ?!

Thanks for the info on the FFL's. Being that they're in LI, I'll probably stick to using Davis. After the gas and tolls, etc, it'd probably be cheaper at Davis anyway :)

Let me know when you get your permit and I'll be up for a shoot. Haven't been to the range in forever myself. I hate it when real life eats into my play-time!

We actually had a "HKPro" shoot a couple of years ago. Maybe its time to arrange another. I still want to check out Mue's 700 TWS :)

Awesome !

I'll touch base with you in about a year, when I get my permit !!

But, if you guys end up arranging a party, count me in, I'll be there to google every one's toys.
