If you were going into combat for whatever reason, and you had a HK45 and a full sized USP .45 which one would you take as your sidearm, if you could ?

As a sidearm? The HK45.
As a primary? The USPf .45 w/31 round mags. :)

HK doesn't make 31rd mags for the USP .45 - so they're probably made by Promag and = fail.

To the OPs question - they both have advantages over the other.

my uspf 45 for the win....id does the most work. But either would do also. I have no reason not to take my HK45 out either. But I know the usp has more time in the field.

Either one.

I have both and each one is super reliable, accurate and dependable.

I'd trust my life to either one!

Which one can you shoot better ?

Because of it's ergonomics, the HK45.
The USPf .45 is a tad large for my girlie hands... :(

I like the improvements HK made with the HK45. I traded my USP 45 for a P30 and haven't replaced it yet. So I have experience with both and in my opinion the HK45 wins hands down. You made the best point yourself. Which can you shoot better? That should be your deciding factor in addition to reliability. Being that they are both pretty darn reliable it all boils down to your accuracy.

I’d take the HK45 as it is a technological step forward if I was forced to take a 45ACP.
My free choice would a P30 in 40S&W for its enhanced magazine capacity while maintaining adequate power. In any event, a military pistol is a secondary weapon and I would hope not to need it and keep the enemy at M4 Carbine range or greater.

Price wise, a better comparison is the USP45 Tactical.
