Put your pics of the P2000 with any flavor of tactical light here! I searched high and low over the internet and found none. Can it be done? Inquiring minds want to know...

ditto. I want to know what lights/laser actually fit in the "standard" rails on the P2000/sk

While this doesn't appear to agree with their website that mentions the need for an adapter from Sidearmor, this response from Insight sounds encouraging:
Thank you for inquiring with Insight. Insight products will fit both the P2000 and the P2000SK. The SK is a sub-compact and will only take the X2 or X2L units. The P2000 is a 4” compact and will take any of our slide-lock lights. Although the X2 and X2L sill fit the P2000 it will not sit on the rail properly. Our lights are made to butt up against the trigger guard for easy on/off access. Keep in mind that our slide-lock light will fit either the 1913 picatinny or weaver rail. I hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further questions or concern don't hesitate to contact me.I find it so unusual that I cannot find one picture of the P2000 with a tactical light attached...

Maybe you could try posting this request in the gallery section? I have used a Surefire X200 and Streamlight TLR-2 on my P2000s, they both fit and work fine. But I don't have any way to post pics! :)

So, you have had good luck with both of these lights with the P2000 with no adapter?

What do you mean by "properly"?
The light I've got will work on the P2000 as well, but will be a little harder to reach. I wish I had the larger light to show you how it would look... but I'm sorry I don't.

I mean without an adapter, without rattle, isn't too far away from the trigger guard, etc.

I might be wrong.... but the M5... doesn't that fit the P2000 ??
If nothing else this one will for sure

http://www.laserdevices.com/infopage.asp?a=flash_pistol&id=22106&action=deviceresults.asp
So I would say the M5 shoudl fit since all those Las/Tac lights list for P99 and P2000 and S&W TSW

Yup works great with an m3 or m6. Here is mine with a m6. and this is what happens when Osama messes with me with my p2000.

Now the only question remaining before buying:
LEM or DA/SA?

LEM. I did the trigger job and it's a dream compared to stock.

Anyone out there come from Glockland? I've been shooting Glock for 15 years and I'm thinking about making the switch. Do you still think LEM is the way to go for a soon-to-be ex-Glocker?

Why are you guys choosing the X200B model over the X200A?

FYI: I use a StreamLight M6 Laser/Illuminator with my P2K V3 9mm. It's easy to reach. The only issue I've noticed is that the Illuminator lens gets dirty because it sticks out past the muzzle.

If you look at the latest Combat Tactics Magazine, you'll see a S&W M&P 9mm on the cover with an X200L (laser.) Which I am really anxious to try out.
I've been waiting and waiting for Surefire to make their own light/laser combo since the X200 series came out.
Problem is...$$$$$$$$$$$

i saw the cover of that magazine too and I tried looking for info on it, but didnt see it being talked about in the article about the M&P it was on. I couldnt tell if it was a laser, or a colored LED illuminator. I noticed that it almost looked as if it was mounted on that little extended mount-looking thing that hangs down from normal X200Bs...if you take a look at somebodys pic of an X200B on their pistol, you will notice this little mount looking thing that extends off the bottom of it closer to the trigger guard. If im not mistaken though, it said something like X200A1 or something of that nature on the side where it would normally just say X200B. I too looked for any information on it, but couldnt find any. If anybody knows anything about this please share.

Anybody have a p2000 with the Insight X2L. I saw the comment about it fitting on the p2000 but not as well as the p2000SK. I'm in the market for this light/laser combo & wanted some info.
choco
12-15-2006, 06:43 AM
The Insight X2L fits the P2000, but the index notch is too far forward for this light. If you want to see the offset distance, check out the Springfield XD45. It has an index notch for fullsize and compact "standard" lights. The distance between its index notches will be the distance the X2L will be from the trigger guard on the P2000 (probably too far to use the switch with your index finger).
BTW, does anyone know about a new Surefire X200 with a laser coming out?

Since my Surefire X200B on my P2000 broke this weekend I had to call Surefire. They said send it back.
But I did ask about the X200L and the service rep knew about it. But didn't know much more than that. I was hoping he could have at least given me a time frame.

It is not a X200L that is coming out it is a X300L and it will be using the new Cree LED and will have the side spill of a X200B and the tight beam of a X200A. I am kind of waiting on the non laser version of the X300.

Regarding the difference between the Surefire X200A and X200B, is the narrow beam verses the wide beam, respectively.
I have the X200B on my Glock 35; and I have the W111D Military:

Sorry no HK P2K...yet. My advice, please make sure you master your pistol before adding a tac light for it. It's an accessory, not a neccessity. Great for Low Light battles.

I posted this earlier in the thread. From the info at shot show they are pushing back the production of it and holding off until they can start using a new more efficient LED. It is no longer going to be the X200L and will be the X300L from what I have heard on candlepowerforums and the earliest they are predicting is mid 2007.

When I bought my p2000 last weekend, the HK rep had p2000sk's with an
"H&K" laser on it. They only offered them with the p2000sk. I asked if I could get one for my p2000 and He is checking on it.
It looked very nice and factory looking.

Internal and mounts on the light rail. I just went back today and the guy said he can get me one for $90 and it will arrive in week. I'll take pictures when I get it.

another light:
Ok, no one hate me, I recently got a GTL10 light for my duty weapon (Glock 22).
I decided to try it on my P2000. The GTL10 fits the P2000 much better than
the TLR-1. Notice with the TLR-1, there is a gap between the light and the
trigger guard, but with the GTL10, it's a perfect fit.
Here's the same P2000 (recently back from Robar with the NP3 finish)
and the two different lights.

Which key from the TLR-1 are you using to mount the light?
