View Full Version : Anyone else not like the new HK45C 10 round base plate?

I finally got mine in and I must say I am pleased with the function of the 10 rounders in my usp45c.

I do admit though that the design of the fat rubber base plate seems a little too much. It just seems that the base plate should form an extension of the grip, not be a fat hunk of rubber at the end of the magazine. I removed the fat rubber base plate and replaced it with a flush 8 round base plate which left a space between the bottom of the grip and the base plate. It got me thinking.

Does anyone here have the skill or know someone with the skill to make a plastic spacer that goes between the baseplate and the grip of the pistol (just like the plastic promag 20 round spacer for the USP 45 full size).

It would kind of make the mag bottom look like this but with a much smaller length plastic spacer. It would be like a small extension of the grip.

I have already confirmed that the 8 round flat base plates will fit the new hk45c mags. All that would remain is to fill in the space between the base plate and grip with the said plastic spacer. This would make the new magazines more aesthetically pleasing and ergonomic, as well as more concealable.

Anyone have any ideas?

Don't recall. I think it would come out better to just manufacture a plastic sleeve to fill the gap. I wonder how the mag would function with a jet funnel modified to fit the usp45C.
