Any Problems with the P30

I finally got to hold one the other day and got hooked immediately. So I ordered one today, couldn't resist! Is anybody experiencing any problems with the P30? I read the ammo problem that someone else was having but so far I haven't read of any other problems...Anything to be worried about? Thanks

My only problem is that it won't stay clean.

Every time I clean mine, I end up at the range a day or two later because I cannot stop wanting to shoot it.

No problems other then it does not like light loads such as Remington UMC during the first couple hundred rounds. Use something else to break it in first. Other then that the gun is very close to being perfect :).

I've got two really big problems with my P-30.

1. It's not self cleaning. How could HK overlooked something as simple
as that?
2. It doesn't supply it's own ammo. Come on, this is the 21st century
gun manufacturers need to get with it.

Other than that, my HK P-30 is PERFECT.

Yeah I couldn't believe how nice this gun felt whenever I got to fondle it! I told myself, before I called the gun store, that I needed to wait until the end of the month to buy anything. Well, I guess we know how that went...

I have seen a lot of people asking if they could conceal this handgun or not? I don't see why anybody would have a problem concealing the P30. It is slim, lightweight (to me), and the grip does not have a pinky extension on it, which should help with a CCW. I carry a USPc .40s&w as of right now and I don't think there would be any way that I could not conceal this one.

I hope to have it by the middle of next week...I bought it from HKspecialist or gm here on this forum. Has anybody purchased from him before? Price was $699 + $15 s/h...cdnn was $729 + $13 s/h so I was able to save a little extra money.

My first 200 rounds using Hydra-Shok and WWB were flawless. This is an exceptional weapon. I am very happy - broke but happy.

The only problem with the P30 is that if you like to miss it won't let you. :)

Oh, and those grips make every other gun feel like a brick.

Don't poo-poo the XD. It may not be a P30 but the XD is a good gun at a good price and he could do a whole lot worse. I own an XD45 compact and it's one of my favorites. Totally reliable, great feel and after thousands of rounds, still going strong.

Not a single problem or malfunction with over 1,000 round down range.

I can attest too. Put 50 rounds of cheap 114 gr practice ammo through followed by 50 rounds of a little more meaty 147 gr ammo and not a hitch.

I was worried the lighter rounds wouldn't lock the slide but I didn't have any problems.

Could be a lot of things - ammo, shooter error (limp wristing), bad mag, who knows but more than likely an easy fix. As a rule, the XD is a very reliable and well-made weapon with no real issues. You might recommend he post his problem in detail at the XDTalk forum. Good bunch of folks over there willing to help.

Taking my P30 out again to the range tomorrow. It's a super gun.

Don't have one yet. Waiting for price to come down. But, from fondling it at shows, I got to say this is the perfect pistol, in terms of fit, grip, and balance. Man, I'm using all my will power to resist purchasing it right now.
The HK45 is a very close second.

I ran 250 rounds of UMC though it yesterday without issue. Round count is now 750.

My P30 eats Remington UMC fine now as well. I just had problems with it in the beginning when the gun was new. After 200 rounds of American Eagle and Speer Lawman it takes the UMC like a champ :).

I started off with 300 rounds of Amer Eagle and 200 of WWB. That Amer Eagle is my fav.
