H&K USP Expert

Does anybody know what the first year H&K manufactured the USP Expert, the earliest date code I've seen has been AB and I believe that's 2002.

I have been looking for a document that explains the date codes and markings on the H&K's but can't find one.

late 2000 was when it showed up in the US.
