Well talked to one of the FFL's down here and apparently he was down in Trussville yesterday and found out that the HK45c's were in the country. He said that by the beginning of next week he should have it in the store.

Just thought it was some interesting info for anyone waiting on the pistol. I know I won't believe it until I read on this site that the pistols already shipped but hopefully there's some truth to it.

Sounds good to me. It'll be awhile before I can get the money for one. Maybe Greg will be testing it by then.:)

Great. I just dropped cash on a P30 that should be in today. That added to the HK45 I bought last month and the HK45C I'll buy next week (if in fact they're in) I won't have any money left.

I just called CDNN, they haven't heard anything about it. HK-USA's forum posted when the HK45 was shipping. Hopefully we'll get one of those announcements there on Monday.

Boy is that the truth. You are going to love your P30. I'll have to save. To buy the HK45 next.

When I talked to jeff at h&k about a week ago I asked him about the new h&kc. He told me it would be 30 to 60 day's before we started seeing them in the u.s. but who know's maybe some have started trickling in. I just purchased two recently. A p2000sk and a usp custom combat so i,m going to need a little time to save some more cash.

Hopefully by the time I get a P2000 LEM, the P30 LEM will be out and by the time I buy that, the HK45C LEM will be out. I'll be way behind on everyone else, then again I am just about to get a my first HK next week:)

Will the mags be the same as the HK45?

Yes the HK45c can use the HK45 mags as well as the USPc 8 round magazines. There are also 10 round mags for the HK45c/USPc .45 with an extended base plate.

Its approx the same size as a USP Compact .45, but slimmer in the grip.

Troutrunner

The hk45c and usp45c are about the same lenght but the hk45c looks to be taller by 0.5 inches. Hopefully the slimmer grip will help with concealing the longer grip or height.

TR

Doubt it will be actually taller than the USPc because they share the same 8 round magazines. If you measure the height USPc with the mags with the extended lip on the bottom it equals the height spec listed for the HK45c (5.54"). Likely the measurement on the website for the 45c is with that mag in and for the USPc it's taken with no mag or a flat base plate mag in.

Looks like I'll have to spend more time on creative accounting to fool the wife. And I just bought a P30 - this is going to be tough. The good news is that she still thinks I only have one gun because they all look the same to her.

I think it would be HIGHLY likely that the HK45C will only come with two 8 round USPc .45 mags. The 10-round .45 Compact mags I'm afraid, is probably only an optional accessory.

HK's customer service response on the company sponsored forum:

We are expecting the guns in the next 30 to 60 days.

Now I asked if they could confirm the rumor that they were in the U.S. They did not give a definitive answer.

I wish that the HK45c had the ergo grip. after my P30 & HK45 both having the ergo grip, I dont think I can go back. and to think I hated the ergo grip when I first saw it. but then I held it in my hand and that was it.

I hear ya. As it is, if HK never puts the ergo grip on the 45C, I'll just get the Walther PPS and be done with it. I'm getting the PPS anyway, because it fits with my off-duty/back-up gun tastes, but I'd HAVE to get the 45C, if it had the ergo-grip...

Latest word from my CDNN rep is:

1. That they're pretty sure it's already in country.
2. It'll prolly stay in US Customs for a week.
3. Then, the dissemination to vaious distributors/dealers what have you, will begin. CDNN being one of the chief distributors for Hk as I understand.
4. This should take another 2 weeks.
5. ETA on HK45C is mid-February 2008.
6. I am the FIRST one on the waiting list with my rep @ CDNN for the first guns that they get in! (one gun alloted per rep) :)

Now I can finally put the 10-rd HK45C mags I already have to use!

I called CDNN a few months ago to get on a list, at that time they didn't even have a list. I was told I was the first on the list, since they just created it for me. My guess is there are a bunch of lists with one name on each tacked up on a wall covered with other lists!

Well...as I understand it, every rep is allowed to make a call list.

Rep 1: List
Rep 2: List...

etc...

Where you end up on that list is the order per your individual rep.

Anyway.....Just hoping this whole HK45C thing pans out. If it doesn't, I'm buying a slingshot.

I called Marshall at CDNN right after I saw the announcement at HK USA. He said someone from HKPRO already told him about it. He didn't have pricing yet, and put my name on his list. The way he talked, his list is fairly long, and he'd get to me when he could.

Is 5.59" tall a compact handgun? The full size is 5.83" tall.

Length is only 7.20" versus 7.52"

I was hoping for something under 5" tall...

These guns are huge relative to the P2000!

lol yeah I had this same thing happen to me when the P30 came out. Heard they were shipping from HK to dealers so wanted to check if they got any in. The guy looked at me like I was crazy and that he had not heard anything about it. Well two hours later they called and told me it was in.

I'm getting the PPS anyway, because it fits with my off-duty/back-up gun tastes, but I'd HAVE to get the 45C, if it had the ergo-grip...I'm in the same exact boat.. i'd HAVE to buy it just because it would be so damn awesome. Too bad H&K made that stupid move...

Also, I'm not really a fan of the HK45's massive looking mag base. The P30 looks nice and proportional, but on the HK45 the bottom looks like it flares out and looks kind of goofy in a way. I like how the P30's mag is almost flush-looking and centered in the grip. Looks cleaner IMO.

I sure wish the P30 would come out in .40 cal already.. well maybe not since I just bought a USPc40. The P30 in .40 will be a HOT gun.

I remember when the first pics of the "spidey" grips came out. Most people hated them. Now that they've felt them the story is different. I personally wanted the P2000 grip on the HK45, until I picked one up.

This is just speculation but I think the contouring of the "spidey" grip adds to the circumference. In true fashion with a compact handgun they may have wanted to trim down the grip as much as they could thus having to use the P2000 style. Same with the omission of interchangeable grip panels for the HK45 a la P3000 style. I think that too would have added a little more grip size to the HK45.

Just my 0.02, I may be completely wrong....won't be the first time, or the last.

Don't hold your breath. The P Series Operator's Manual is for the P2000 series and P30. It lists all calibers for the P2000 (except of course .45acp) and only 9x19 for the P30. By the same token the HK45 manual lists the HK45, HK45C, HK45CT and HK45T. Yes, they can print a new manual in the future but word from HK and the fact they didn't have other calibers listed should tell you something. At least that it's not something planned in the near future.

Remember, the USP was built around the .40SW. not a 9mm upgraded to .40sw. Don't know that they would change gears in that development process now.

Hey guys, I've been following the HK.45C news for a couple years now off and on. Now that they seem to be close to actually existing, I'm trying to catch up!

It sounds like the first units (black, standard bbl) are on their way. But does anyone know if HK still has plans to produce the version they originally promoted in the gun magazines, with the tan frame and threaded barrel? That's the version I'm still hoping for.

Thanks in advance for any info here.
