I've learned through this forum that the stainless USP's were not that big in terms of sales, and they were done being imported in 2004. Is it all possible to get a new compact stainless ordered and imported into the states from HK? I know that great used ones pop up here from time to time, but there is something about me and buying new guns preferebly these days. I'd specifically like to get a new in box compact 9mm stainless to go with my .40 stainless. Maybe there is a dealer out there still sitting on one.

Perhaps thru another imported but not thru HK Inc.

If U look hard enough - U may be able to find one online.
Or, U can do the old hard chrome routine, like I did...

Your best bet would be to watch gunbroker for one. I lucked out and found a NIB stainless 40 at a gun show for $595. Maybe you'll have the same luck. But in the mean time, stay watching gunbroker.
Most of my stainless were bought LNIB with super low round counts. There are unfired NIB stainless out there, if you be patient and look...then move quickly when one shows up for a price you can live with.
I really dont have an issue buying a LNIB stainless with a real low round count. I got one here on the forums a year ago, a .45 stainless USP with 20 rounds on it - its hard to tell its even been fired, both mags are spotless and show no signs of even being inserted in the mag well.

I got lucky on mine. I picked it up NIB with three mags for $525 with the stainless slide. Mine is a 40cal. Box, paperwork and all. So, they are out there just hard to find. Mine was made in 98.
That is a good idea though to send one off to have it hard chromed from Tripps.

i saw 2 of them at a gunshow yesterday, but the people wanted an obscene amount of money for them, so they didn't come home with me :(

I recently bought one new in cardboard box with 1 mag, warranty card, and a new Galco leather holster for $625.
I'm still debating on shooting it or keeping it NIB. I'd really rather shoot it though but if the prices ever jump like some of the older Hks, I may just put it away in the safe.

They're out there - gunbroker.com, gunsamerica.com, even at your local gun shop - there's a NIB fullsize Stainless .40 at mine.
I bought a 9mm USPc Stainless NIB - on Gunbroker a few months ago - it's currently my favorite gun.
