Well my department just approved the new HK45 for duty use. Here is my problem, I have the HK45 with a Surefire X300, but I can't seem to find a holster for my rig. The one catch is it has to be a black "basket weave" pattern.

Can anyone help or suggest a holster they currently use on duty? I did a search but have not com up with a duty hoster, just off duty carry options.

Thanks in advance.

I hear the USP .45 holster fits the new HK45 like a glove. I recently bought a black basket weave 200-93 duty holster for USP .45 from Safariland, its beautiful!

Check their site, they have holsters for the new P30, may be making holsters for the new HK45 now too!

Go here: >> http://www.safariland.com/info/willfit.aspx >> download the .pdf 'Will Fit' file for
Duty Holsters-Pistols file >> do a search in the file for the new HK45 pistol.

You can order yours right here on HK Pro forum from BigDuke for your HK45 for around 40% off >> see this link >> http://hkpro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51046

I carry the HK45 w/X300 on duty in a Safariland basket weave holster. The hoster is made for the Glock 21 w/TLR1 light attached. With the X200 it fit perfect. With the X300 I had to punch the cap on the bottom of the holster where the light rests and then reglue it where it extended out about 3/8 of an inch. Compound glue/cement worked great and it hasn't budged. The X300 is just a little longer than the X200 but man what a great light. Good luck and hope this helps.
Ben

PS. I couldn't make Safariland holster made for my USP45 Tac w/UTL work with my HK45 and X200/300.

Does Safariland not make a 6280 for it yet? I'm issued a USP 40 and on it rides an X300. The package rides in a 6280 w/ sentry installed. Love it. Good luck!

No, Safariland doesn't make a dedicated 6280 for the HK45 yet but in time they will so for the time being the 6280 for the G21w/TLR will work. Keep calling and emailing Safariland and it will get made sooner rather than later.
Cool that you are issued a USP40. Great weapon. I have two and one is a Tac model with jet funnel, adjustable night sights, and ambi control lever. I just got a duty holster for it to go with another X300 on a new duty belt I'm setting up. It is a great weapon.

I've been looking for a Safariland 6285 in STX finish for my USP 45 with TLR-2 and GG&G adapter. Anyone else have this set up? I can't seem to find a 6285 that fits this. You would think that they would make one for this set up.

I talked to Safariland last week about HK 45 holsters. They said it's in the works, but would be at least 2-3 months away. I figure 6 months.

Which pouch do you carry your mags? I need a double basketweave duty pouch.

I use an open top Bianchi mag pouch, size 4.

It's basketweave and has 2 tension screws to keep the mags in place.

I use the 6280 glock 21/x-200 combo for my HK45LEM and it fits perfect but only after I had it converted to LEM trigger. Before the V1 hammer and decocker/saftey got in the way. The HK45 LEM fits like a glove but I two want the 6280 stx for the HK45 w/o the light. I wish the serpa lv3 duty holster for my P30 fit my HK45 but it doesnt, and I doubt blackhawk will make one.

Sorry to post on an old thread, but Shelley at TedBlockHolsters.com just made me these, said they were the first that they have done, I got to be the guniea pig! I am very impressed with the craftsmanship.

Is there anyway you could cut a notch out of the hood so a cocked and locked HK45 would fit? From the picture it looks like it might work.

It also fits with the hammer cocked.

reaper, yes you could but be careful. you dont wanna cut to much and mess up the retetion ''hood''. the reason mine fits so good is because my HK45 is a LEM. i'm still waiting for them to make a 6820 with the stx tactical finish for the HK45 w/o a light. i prefer the blackhawk serpa lv.3 over the safariland, but blackhawk isnt HK friendly when it comes to thier holsters.

Reaper, I have done this with my 6280 and my 6004. I called Safariland in an attempt to get a factory hood to accomodate the "condition 1" carry, they could not accomodate me at the time, but they sent me two brand new hoods, so I cut a notch in both. I will try to get some pic's tonight and post them.

Just so you know, I am using a different holster than the Glock 21 with the X200. I am actually using a Sig P220 with M3 light size holster. I then popped the bottom light plug out of the holster and doubled the width of the plastic spacer in the bottome of the holster. I had originally done this to fit my P220 with an M3X into a holster much smaller than the size holster Safariland offered for the gun light set up I had at the time. Once I got my HK45 I realized it fit in the holster perfect with the M3X on it, so it was just a matter of cutting the notch in the hoods.

this set up works great for me. however, the newest model Safariland has come out with, STX (or something similar) I think, those holsters are very impressive. I don't know what kind of plans Safariland has for HK's, but a couple guys here have them and I really like the new holster and the size (smaller holster). I really don't like the huge holsters Safariland offeres for any handgun, let alone a big handgun like a full size .45acp, with the M3X on it. I will likely be changing to one of the newer LED lights however, they have come a long way in focusing an intense LED beam....

good luck.

Thanks fellas.

Kilo, are using the x200 on the HK45 too? I am really interested in the x300, but want to make sure it will fit. At this point I am starting to get very impatient.

The X300 is bit longer than the 200.

FYI- Safariland just updated their "Will Fit" chart. They are now making the 6280 and 6285 duty holsters for the HK45. The fit code is 393. Still no dedicated holster for an HK45 with light.

Am I reading this all wrong or is there still no Safariland/Serpa tactical holster out there for an LEM HK45 with a X200?
I tried the Glock 21 with M3 light combo and it does not fit.....

I have the same Level 3 Blackhawk holster as kilo and it fits also the P2000's pretty well.

A couple days ago, I got off the phone with Blackhawk about that hooded lv 3 duty 'autolock' holster. I inquired about that holster for the HK45 (full and comp). Of course they were thinking "USP .45" as I had predicted, so I NAILED them on inquiring specifically on the HK45's....period. I remembered a post in which someone said they contacted them and they that lvl 3 (for HK45,) was "in the works". I remember posting a reply questioning, 'are you sure HK45 and NOT USP?'

So the bottom line is, they said they'll "pass it along" (to their R&D I assume,) about the lvl 3 duty holst for the new HK45 series of guns.

I just got of the phone with Safariland.
Again, I was told that they DO NOT make a specific rig for an HK45 with any light.... YET.
Before I could launch into an unflattering tirade, I was told, (actually "Promised") that a 6280 series tactical holster for the HK45 (yes, full size, NOT USP) which will accommodate a Surefire X300 light, will be available 01 MAY 2009.
This I gotta see.

Which 6280 holster would HK45 DA/SA with M3 or TLR1 fit into?

I consistently see Blackhawk at the trade shows, and consistently ask them about SERPA duty holster (preferably light bearing) for the HK45. I actually think they're somewhat annoyed by it, since it's usually the same guy. In any event, the answer is always the same. "It costs us roughly 20-30K to design the mold, and that's before any product is made. We're concentrating our production on guns with a larger market share."

I'm not expecting a SERPA duty holster in the near future.

Bunkerbuster-

I ran into the same probs you have so I made a Safariland holster fit my HK45. Check my thread "HK45 duty-holster solution" for my holster mod of a 6280-19421 holster for the XD 45. I carry my V1 HK45 with a TLR-2, so it should be a good fit for the M3/TLR-1.

I don't believe it costs that much to make a holster mold? how hard can it be? now if they just want to say they don't believe there is a big enough market for it, fine I can understand that. but if you look at say, SafariLands catalog, they make a holster for almost every concievable holster handgun combination, so I don't get it.
