Wanted as I once posted was based on a comic by Mark Millar and I believe Garth Ennis. They completely changed the storyline because I don't think the general public would want to see a movie based on the premise that in a Superhuman war the Super villains won and killed off all the super heroes. They took over the world and made everyone forget that meta humans existed. The main character (modeled after Eminem) was the son of the world's greatest Assassin and Hero Killer. He also had his father's skills and was mentored by an analog of Lex Luthor/ Professor Moriarity to go to alternate versions of earth to kill those world's super heroes for a fee of course. There were a lot of morally repugnant things going on in the story like the main character going into a police station and killing all the cops and raping the surviving female cop just to see if he could. The main bad guy was a former Billy Graham style preacher who became an immoral sociopath when after dying found out there is no light/heaven/hell, just darkness. He murders a boy's parents so the kid will dedicate the rest of his life becoming a dark knight of of justice and then take pleasure in destroying said hero's life before killing him. Like I said this story was pretty dark and nihilistic.
