Maybe some of our European members can answer this. Thanks!

Yes, it is. Same price as regular P30, if I remember correctly. Standard size does feel a little bit better balanced in my hand, however - but this can just be me...

Has been for a few months IIRC.

Hopefully they'll be in Canada fairly soon, then you may be able to get Wolverine Supplies to export one to the US for you.

It REALLY amazes me how expensive stuff is in Canada. Your Experts are $1,850

I've heard that the P30L would NOT be coming to the US. I also heard that the P30 LEM IS coming to USA. However, this is contrary to what HK Customer service has posted on HK-USA.com. I truly wish I knew the answer to this question. My gut feeling is LEM will be here before August, and P30L will never come.

A good friend of mine, who I dragged to the SHOT 2007 show, and had an opportunity to go again this year. I asked him if he could stop by the HK booth and ask specifically on the P30 LEM and P30L. I don't think he mistook the P30L in his conversation for something else as he's very competent with words (and guns). The representative told him P30 LEM was in the works and coming; and, the P30L was not coming here.

Before SHOT 2008, I asked on this board for somebody who was going to ask HK; but nobody mentioned they were going, so I simply had him ask instead. It'd be nice if somebody else could "confirm" this. Not that I don't believe my friend, but depending on which representative you get, you may well get a different answer. It's very interesting HK Customer Service is still saying...no plans for it. The best approach is to just wait and see.

I won't have the P30 without LEM, and I don't want to do the conversion if there will be another alternative coming before November. I guess in the mean time I'm going to "HAVE" to buy one of those PSP' :).

if there's market, HK will send the L to us. Look at Mark23, even in limited production, we're still getting them. There probably wont' be a lot of P30L, but I think they'll cross the pond.

If HK expects me to pay $850+ for a P30, I'll wait for the exact one I want.

I have tried twice to post a response on the Factory Forum to an HK customer service post stating: "There are no current plans to import the P30 in LEM varaint."

Both of my posts have been "Removed" from the site without any answer. The second included a P30L question.

I have followed up with an E-mail and also have not received a response. Apparently if you say something they don't like, they just delete it!!!

$850 for a P30? where you buying guns from?! A NIB P30 sells for $750-$790. I just bought a second P30 today for $790 shipped. but I do see your point, you like I want a P30L!!

I guess the first shipment of p30L's arrived in Canada at the beginning of this month. More to come soon I can't wait to get one!

I just don't understand why they would ship them to Canada and not the U.S.

Is there any way to import one from Canada?

hmm. Do you know which shop in Canada are going to be hosting said P30L's?

First off, Raptor 22 will confirm everything in Canada is like 50% more than the US. P30s are over $1K, IIRC. Add time and fees to import, you are not going to want anything to do with importing an L from Canada. (it might make sense if the US Dollar would buy you $1.65 like in 2002...LOLOL)

Yeah, meanwhile those of us who live in Canada have to deal with the price inflations plus the ridiculous firearms laws.

I checked into it, and maybe I'm missing something but it sounds like all I need to do is have my local FFL send in a Form 6 for me and the P30L could be imported through them. I don't really care if the price is higher than normal cause I REALLY want a P30L and I'm worried they won't make it into the U.S.

Am I off base?

If the "L" is imported to Canada and not the states, any chance of buying one from a Canadian gun shop and having it shipped to my FFL?

^ I expect a full report on the p30L from you when its in your possession. Pics and all. Would be cool if you can compare it to the p30. Especially a range report comparing the two. A shootout perhaps...that would be tops.

Definiately! Won't be able to compare it though unfortunately as we can't get the P30 in Canada, just the P30L

This is a surprise to me. Why would they do it in reverse for you guys sending the p30L first and someday down the road hopefully the p30? If I managed to coax you into purchasing a p30L for me and sending it over to the states I wonder how difficult it would be? Perhaps I would return the favor by sending over the p30 your way. Ahh while typing this I just realized that maybe the p30 doesn't meet your regulations over in Canada? Is this true?

The reason the P30L is available in Canada and not the P30 is because of barrel length restrictions. Anything under a 4" barrel is illegal and since the P30 has a 3.86" barrel the P30L is an excellent substitution.

Yup, my duty pistol is under 4" though, go figure...

Import/Exports seems to be a big pain in the a$$!
