Hey guys,
Okay, I'm not sure how to explain this, but here it goes... I just recently got a USPc .45 and the trigger is a little weird. At the range, when I slowly release the trigger to the reset point, it is not smooth all the way to the reset. There is a very light sounding click before the reset and if i pull the trigger back from that point back there is a louder clicking sound, sounds as if the trigger is rubbing or grabbing on to something. I have a USPc 9mm and it does not do this, the trigger is smooth all the way to the reset and back. It's quite annoying because at the range I think it hits the reset, but it really doesn't.
Anyone know what this is? Possible solutions?
Thanks

is it a new usp? my compact 9mm did something like that when it was new but after about five hundred rounds or so it smoothed out

No, it is not new. However, the previous owner stated it had a low round count, maybe around 500-1000.

I had a brand new USPc in .45 that had issues with the trigger reset spring being too weak. I called Travis at HK and he sent out a replacement spring. Once installed it solved the trigger reset issues I was having. Travis told me that some USPs have problems with the trigger reset spring. If I remember correctly I think he said he would sent me a TRS from the P2000.

Sounds normal to me. Quit looking for something to be wrong. If the gun is functioning properly quit worrying. It is a DA trigger and there are quite a few moving parts so things are not going to be smooth as butter. If it were then it would be broken somewhere. When you release a trigger slowly, which is not the normal use of the trigger, you can imagine all kinds of things going wrong from the feel and sounds you would not normally feel or hear when shooting or using the gun the way it is designed to be used. You are not supposed to pull the trigger again until it has been released past reset so pulling the trigger prematurely and hearing additional clicking and popping does not indicate something wrong when you heard those weird noises, it indicates you have not let things reset properly.
To cure the trigger not quite reaching reset quit releasing the trigger slowly and babying it. Let off it like you mean it so it can reset normally and I bet you won't have any more short stroking.

haha, I completely understand what your saying big bore. I usually let off the trigger normally, but after I noticed the play before the reset it just got to me. After that I think I was just looking for something to be wrong. I'll just continue to shoot it normally because the reset and everything else is in working order.
Thanks big bore and everyone else for your insight. :83:
