Just got my P7M8 and tried shooting it. What a blessing it is. The only pistol more accurate is my Ed Brown 1911 at double the price. Too bad the P7 is not 45 ACP.

I thought all the threads about how accurate it is was a cover up for the price paid but....what a shooter.

A proud and happy owner of a P7M8!

The only gun I own that will outshoot my P7's is a SIG210. And talking about apples and oranges....
Glad you love your P7. I just got another from a fellow board member that is NP3'ed and it just rocks out with its c&*k out!
Looks so good while doing it to.

The P7M8 is easily one of the nicest most accurate pistols to ever come out of HK's factory... or any firearms factory for that matter. There is in fact alot of hype about them, but that hype is backed up by undeniable stone cold accuracy. :D

Enjoy your P7M8!

i too love the P7M8...the fixed barrel makes it amazingly accurate, combined with a butter smooth fire control system....its certainly a head scratcher why HK stopped making them....

Because they weren't selling enough of them would be my guess.

I was amazed by the accuracy of my NIB P7 M8, It will definetely run with the best of the them.

Im pretty da*# sure it shoots as well as my Colt NM GM, and my HK45

Production costs are extremely high for the P7 guns as well. The gun has been around since the early 1980's though so it has had a good run. I hate to see it go as well and wish they would continue making them.

It stands to reason HK discontinued the P7 because it is easier for them to mold polymer frames then to produce an all metal pistol. Once you have switched production over to mainly molding polymer, it's probably alot easier to make your entire product line featuring polymer frames and concentrate on doing that one thing and getting it right.

In addition, light weight polymer frames are considered the wave of the future at this time and the trusty old P7 probably seems like a anchor to the public market who is attracted to Glocks etc. and doesn't even know what a P7 is. :)

I wonder how a polymer frame P7 would work.... Although the cylinder would have to be metal...
