Start here:

The two main differences are placement of the mag release and the M8's heat shield. The M8 is more desirable.

There are also a few p7 sites on the net that would be worth checking out (sorry dont have links handy right now)

The police trade-in PSP's are graded A-C, with A being the best looking cosmetically. Functionally all three grades should work just as well as any other.
The two main differences between the PSP and the P7M8 are the mag release and the trigger guard. The PSP releases at the base of the gun (which I actually prefer for carry) compared to the P7M8 releasing in the traditional spot, at the back of the trigger guard. The trigger guard on the P7M8 is larger to be used by gloved fingers, and also includes an extra heat shield to help with heat buildup.
Both of these guns when fired a good bit at the range will get hot.
My personal opinion: the first one I ever shot was the P7M8 and while the gun was nice, it was hard to justify $1300+. A month later the PSP's started coming on the market, and I got mine for about $750.
Why pay full price for a P7M8 when you can have a PSP for half the price, I say.

PSP grading is primarily internals; finish is secondary.
PSP vs M8 is personal; for me, a P7 is a pistol for perfectionists, and the M8 is perfect-- PSP is almost perfect.
M8's primary practical advantage is the american style mag release. I decided in this direction partly because of the relatively small 8 round capacity; others argue that personal defense rarely involves speed reloads. Whatever. Heat shield is nice, but not practical for personal defense, which even with 2 spare mags would involve no more than 25 rounds. I REALLY prefer the larger trigger guard of the M8.
Consider the fact that M8s have held their value through the onslaught of several thousand police turn-in PSPs; there is a reason for that, whether you see it or not.
Old conventional wisdom: flood of PSPs will drive down the value of M8s.
New conventional wisdom: Flood of PSPs will convert thousands of shooters to P7 fanatics, driving up interest-- and price- of M8s.
why buy an imperfect version of a perfect pistol? YMMV

Well, MMY'ed..
I'm just a tad short of perfect myself, so the P7PSP fits me perfectly... Guess if my wife wanted a P7 she'd need the M8...

My preference is obviously the P7M8. The PSP is a nice gun too, and well suited for carry, I just prefer the M8's mag. release and the fact that it has a heat sheild. The heat sheild really helps alot when you are going at it hard while at the range. The mag. release is also located in the same postition as my USPs so theres an easy transition from one to the other.
One could also argue that the better design always shines through and both the P7M13 and P7M10 are set up exactly like the P7M8 and not the PSP. I think that says alot about which design is superior.
