I was at the Phoenix gun show yesterday and was stunned to see a used HK45 Compact for sale, price was $799.
I didn't even think the compacts were out for sale yet, and I see one that was used.
When were they released?
they have been out for about all of the month of February...there were actually 2 used ones posted on the boards here within days of them leaving Trussville.....

Thanks, guess I was out of the loop on that one.
I handled it and it seemed to be a very compact pistol in size, and felt great in the hand (just like the P30). The small size also made that .45 caliber muzzle seem HUGE.
But why are people buying a $900 pistol and trading it after 2 boxes of ammo, I'm confused. Recoil issues maybe?

It could be a number of reasons why you'll see used ones so soon. For instance in my store, I'll often let the employees do a range demo of new pistols to get a feel for them in order to better explain/sell them to customers. After they've been shot, I'll sell them as used.

Maybe they just didn't like it. Maybe they wanted smaller size?

my guess is they bought it sight unseen off the net, and then didnt like it for some reason...
i personally was really, really high on the 45c, and almost ordered one, but waited until i could hold one, and saw that it is too short in the grip for my hand...im glad i waited....unfortunately i need a 45 in between the 45 and the 45c...like the size of the p30

Yeah, a gun is largely an objective purchase. You buy what you like. Sometimes you get information from a friend or shop owner etc. You do research and think to yourself "hey that's great" and you try to get one. Sometimes you have yourself in a certain mindset that causes a false sense of hype and the gun may or may not meet your expectations. It happens. Maybe the trigger wasn't what you thought, maybe you wanted something smaller than it actually was when you held it, maybe you weren't comfortable shooting it for one reason or another. There's many people who buy a gun based on hype then love it, then they see another gun they want. Again, they buy based on hype and trade in or sell their current gun to get the new one. These types never really become proficient with any one gun they happen to own. It does take some time to get used to the trigger system and the various features on any gun.

You will frequently see this occur with early adopters. Typically, these people buy a firearm based on magazine articles and internet reviews without having even handled one. As another person said, either something doesn't feel good to them after they shoot it, they're unhappy with it compared to other firearms, or they need to "fund another project." -There's also a little bit of wanting to be the "cool kid" with the best toys so people buy it for bragging rights, post pictures, and then sell it so they can do the same with next latest, greatest thing.

It was never shot. Still has factory grease on it. And yes it is sold. To me.
