I went ahead and tried to do the trigger job on my Tac45 after researching on HKPRO.

Heres my process:
1. I disassembled the whole gun.
2. Cleaned everything spotless.
3. I flitzed the Sear on the contact points with my dremel.
4. Lightly lubed all contact points with Break Free.
5. Reassembled the gun with original parts except for a new Wolf Springs 12 lb. Main Spring(Hammer Spring).
6. Test fired it.

There was such a dramatic difference in trigger action I could hardly believe it. I thought I loved the HK Match trigger before but it just went to the next level! The only thing that needs adjusting is the take up. I am by far no expert on trigger jobs so I will leave the trigger as is for now.

Total cost for this venture was about $9 for the new spring shipped and a bit of my time. On top of that I got to learn how to completely disassemble, work on, and reassemble a USP with great results!

As usual heres a cool pic.

I did the same thing to my non-match trigger USP 40C except I used the Wolf Springs 10 lb. Main Spring and my groups are tighter than ever! Totally worth it.

Congrats, you have learned the s e c r e t.

It does work.

I first learned of this in the BerettaForum.net ~ on my FS92.

It is true the Match Trigger needs less work than most but this very same procedure along with some carefully chosen reduced power springs (when needed) can lead to some amazing triggers. I also in many cases polish other conctact areas including pivot pins.

To reduce/smooth a trigger pull >>> I also think that complete detail cleaning and relubing can make a huge difference on it's own. Polishing helps. Reduced power mainsprings can help too. It sure beats sending out a gun for a trigger job and spending a fortune on shipping charges and the cost of the trigger job itself.

Yes, you have figured it out!
