I haven't been on the forum in a long time.
I've made a discovery while working on my P7.
I have looked long and hard to find a set of tritium sights for my Mk23, I even tried to get them from H&K, but my armorers cert ran out.
I finally picked up a P7-M8 and went out and ordered a set of tritium sights for it, problem was I rec'd the long set instead of the short set.
I just set them aside expecting to use them or sell them later.
I finally ordered a set of P7 short tritium sights and as soon as I got them installed them (did I mention that I am a 'smith?).
Anyway, after installing the short set I was thinking about the other set and how they were too long, I knew that the Mk23 set was longer than any other H&K set I have seen, I pulled the long set out and viola' they fit the dovetails of the Mk23 exactly. The only difference is that the rear sight is not drilled and counter-sunk for the screw that is original to the Mk23. You could actually drill and CS it, there is enough metal if you thought it needed it. They are slightly shorter in height, but then I can't get a suppressor in NYS anyway.
All this time and they were setting right under my nose and I didn't realize it.
None of the sight manufacturers seem to know this either.
Now my Mk23 is lit up like the rest of my collection.

huh, very cool. I've always wondered if the longer P7 sights would fit the Mark23 rear sight dovetail.

Does the front sight fit also?

DAmn! Thats awesome! I cant believe nobody has tried this before :p

The set screw is kind of overkill IMHO, so i dont think you really need it (95% of other rear sights have no "set screw" on them)
