Anybody have a good holster they have used to carry a usp compact on their duty vest (body armor) under the shirt? Want to strap mine with the side velcro.
Anybody tried and succeeded?

5.11 makes a holster with a velcro outside and a mounting plate for their back up belt system. Some people have figured out a way to stick it to their vest and wrap the straps over it.
I tried this with my P2000sk and it looked like I had a tumor.
The USPc is a pretty darn big and heavy gun. How about a Smith and Wesson J-Frame revolver on your vest? I think the new Ruger LCP would also be better as a vest gun, along with a fixed blade flat knife in a kydex sheath mounted to the vest straps.
Unkle Mikes makes a vest holster as does a few leather holster makers such as Aker (not sure if it is them, however). The Unkle Mikes worked better with my old vest carrier with the double straps. My new ABA Xtreme has the wide single straps.
I think there was a thread about this over at http://glocktalk.com

agreed on the j-frame - already have one
Not worried about the size as much as the weight. As long as my vest can support the weight - it is not a problem.

I think the weight is gonna really stretch out the straps. I also have a J frame I keep on my vest, works great. I've known a few guys who have carried kimbers and USPc on a shoulder harness. Most end up going back to the J frame, the others are just too heavy.

I tried the 5.11 Back Up holster with my USPc 9mm w/13rd mag and had the same results. Only my lump looked like a man boob under my uni. I ran it in a vertical format with butt forward tucked under my armpit. The holster rides OK, but getting up and down, in and out all day, it starts to work it's way out from under the straps and twist up you body armor a bit. On a big chested guy with a loose uni it might fly, but on the average joe it shows and looks awkward.
I also tried the backup holster in my 5.11 A/B duty pants in the cargo pocket. It's just too heavy and sags your pants down after awhile.
I know it's blasphemy, but try a baby glock or a Smitty if you want the body armor back up.
