So I picked up a Chantilly, VA P7M8 (IF date code) in excellent condition, with very little wear, in or out.

Questions:

1 How does one determine the value of a P7M8?

2 Does adding night sights/NP3/hard chrome increase or decrease value?

3 Any special cleaning instructions?

4 Can I use Breakfree CLP to clean it?

5 Is there anything inherently wrong with an '85 P7 that needs to be
repaired/replaced?

Thanks in advance!

Just shoot it! Don't refinish til it needs it-- that is when enough steel is showing to worry about rust. if you carry it close to skin, remove the plastic grip and wipe. CLP is fine, but there are better. i use gun scrubber, shooter's choice and Tetra lube. refinish will NOT add to value. Is this a gun for you, or a mutual fund? Make sure you have a .270 in bronze brush for the gas cylinder; scraper is good but not necessary every cleaning. Run gas cylinder dry. do NOT use anything more abrasive than a nylon brush on the piston. Night sights do add value. Chances are, nothing needs to be replaced; springs are a good idea to have on hand, maybe firing pin assembly.
