I thought the USP would be the only companion to the SL8, but I couldn't help myself once I held the P30. Now an SK is in order but one will have to go.

The P30 shoots even better then it feels so I am sure you are going to be very happy with it. :D

You will definitely become attached to it. There is only one problem...............There is no P30L yet and I had to buy a USP9 to make up for it also keep the P30 company:39:

had a chance to handle the P30 recently. it does feel really nice in my hand but it almost doesn't feel like an HK. i guess i'm comparing it to the grip feel with the USP series and my 23. worlds different.

Congrats on your P30. You'll love the way she shoots. Plus give us a range update.

do all p30 pistols (and the new hk45 for that matter) come with the internal lock?

Yes they do. The only post 1999 HK handgun that I know of that doesn't have it is the P7 series.

My first time out to the range with my P30 was both thrilling (because I was punching the center of the target out) and somehow frustrating, as it was hard to see where I was hitting (because I was punching the center of the target out...:D). You'll love it.

Its because the P30 was designed to fit the human hand unlike the massive Mark 23 :p

I just fondled a P30 yesterday and it was impressive. The spiderman grips still look kind of stupid, but not nearly as bad as the pictures make them out to be. I don't like the sights though. I'd have to change the color of the front sight, but that's just a personal preference. The trigger felt a little gritty in single action, but the double action trigger was smooth as silk for being DA.
I was very unimpressed with the Sig P250. Imagine the AR15 buffer spring's "sproooing" sound, and apply that to a handgun. The thing rattles like there's no tomorrow, and I really don't like how exposed the gun is in the back where the slide and frame meet. It's very rare that I find a gun's grip outright uncomfortable, and the P250 is one of the select few to fit that category.
Congrats on the buy. I don't like many HK handguns, but the P30 is on my short list of must buys.

It's here and as nice as indicated.
As a side note I was reading the comments to the reviews of the P30 on Snipershide (or whatever it's called) and people rip on HK or the P30 without any knowledge or experience. I mean a person can say "I hate how it feels or it's not balanced right, etc." But to say HK's are overpriced and junky is just beyond silly. I'm rather new to modern pistols but find HK's so well finished and thought out that it blows my mind that comments can be made otherwise. I like Glocks, but geez the top and bottom look like two different guns and they don't even really look like they fit together. It has a tough look and perhaps that's the love, and I can appreciate that, but that doesn't make HK bad cause it costs more. Sigs are another I don't get, nice but they even cost more than HK's, again it's another look that many appreciate, but that doesn't make HK a pile of junk. I'd say looks wise, the Walther's and S&W's are styling up there with HK, oh and don't even get me started on ammo selection, cause only the .45 bring down a zombie.
Rant off, and I have to say that this is a great forum as I rarely see anyone call another brand junk, guess when you know you have near perfection it doesn't pay to get your feathers all in a ruffle.

Most people that I see blathering about how HK pistols are overpriced say so because "50 cent don't use no HK yo, he uses a Glock" :11:
HK is one of the few products in the world that I feel that I own the best of the best.
