Alrighty, about a year and a half ago I purchased a USP .40 cal. in the desert tan. It came with the soft case as well as a hard case, and 2 hi-cap mags. I have only put about 500 rounds through it because I bought it right before I deployed. I was looking online for a retail price and wasn't able to find anything regarding a .40 cal desert tan USP. All I was able to find was the .45 I was wondering if this is because the people who have the 40 's love them so much that they wont sell them, or if HK only made a certain amount of them and they are hard to come by. The firearm is in perfect condition.

Gunbroker.com (http://gunbroker.com) is one place where I go to check out current price levels. I see a few USP 40s listed there that you might want to use as a guide.

Plus 1 :)
To find an items volume, you can use the Archimedes method by filling a tub with water and measuring the amount of water displaced when you drop your weapon into it.

I would think for a used USPF is about 550-650.00 Now you have a tan one which should or might be more. Then add in the tactical case..
I'm thinking 750.00 But thats just my opinion.
I know a guy who purchased the OD.40 for 599.00 about 6 months ago.
Its really..what you want and what someone is willing to pay.
I personally like only the black models and don't care for the greens or tans.

The colored-frame models did not sell all that well. Often they ended up selling for a little bit less than the black ones. . .
Seems like there are fewer of the colored ones available right now, so I might think that the colored ones are about equal in value to the black ones, depending on the preferences of the buyer. As time goes on, in the future, the colored ones could be worth more than the black ones I suppose, but I wouldn't expect to sell one at a premium at this point in time.
Also, the 357 Sigs, and the .40 S&W models seem to sell for slightly less than the 9mms and the .45s.
Bottom line? I think that even though you are not seeing any desert tan USP 40s for sale to compare with, you can get a pretty close idea from the black ones on GB. If you think you can get a premium for it being a tan one, then add a few bucks (+- $25-50) to the avg price of a black one.
Unless it is in unfired condition, tan, green, black or pink-with-blue-polka-dots are all just different brands of the same corned beef. It will still not be collectable, or worth any extra for the color of the frame. There are PLENTY of colored-frame HKs out there that have been stashed away in new, unfired condition in hopes of future value and collectability. The color of a used USP is really just a matter of individual preference. :)

Also, you ought to call CDNN for a price on a new USP 40, so you know what the high limit is for new as compared with used. Sometimes the asking prices on used HKs on GB are HIGHER than new. . . you'd have to look at the selling prices as opposed to the asking prices. Alot of the stuff on there just sits, overpriced, without selling, and just gets relisted, and relisted, over and over again.
If I were you, I would ask no more than the price of a new black one at CDNN, but more likely (if I were serious about selling it) I would ask about $50 less than the price of a new black USP 40. . . Hope this helps! :)

The only new USPs I have seen lately in tan have been "Tactical" Models or equipped with the Jet Funnel. .40 S&W in tactical (threaded barrel) is a joke because you cannot really quiet a .40 S&W. The JF feature is attractive to some guys but most of us feel limited and restricted by "JF mag only" use.
Personally, I love tan and O.D. and I would trade up if it made sense. The sad news is found in the pages of "Blue Book of Gun Values." If you fired it (even 500 rounds) it's used. I spent a small fortune on trigger jobs on all my USPs (in Black) and have been offered small change for my "used guns" so I guess I'll keep 'em. I think H&Ks are as good or better than Sig Sauers. The only "good news" in all this is that we can buy used USPs for way cheaper than new ones. SIGs are OK but you cannot get that kinda deal on a SIG!
Just my 2¢
Saw a NIB like yours in OD green go for $650, came with soft OD green Tactical case/JF kit and 2 of the hi-cap mags.
Used w/500 rnds - $550 would be my estimate. Why not keep it and shoot it?
