I should be picking up my new USP tactical .45 Friday when it comes in. I paid $1,100.00 from a local dealer as the best price I could get for a newly ordered one. He had one in the dealership missing a magazine, scratched and I heard it had been out there on display for a year so he would deal on that one down to $950.00 but I went for a new one from the factory. Did I do good?
I already ordered the TP, and for future accessory the GG & G slimline rail adapter. I want to get the M6X plus remote switch to put there. (Need employment before I spend anymore....)
I also ordered a tactical thigh holster from Bladetech (3-4 wks) to accommodate all of the above. (sku #10012)
Just need ammo, suppressor and a shoulder holster (Just the USP) and I am in business!
I AM SO EXCITED I FEEL LIKE A KID AND CHRISTMAS IS FRIDAY!!!!!

Congrats! You bought a great gun. :) You won't be disapointed. You might have paid a wee bit too much for it, but who cares! You got a fantastic gun and a great start into the HK family.

That's about an average price for one. Not a great deal, but not overpriced either. You could have saved $220 or so by buying it online. Some people prefer spending a little more for the opportunity to examine it before they buy, and prefer dealing with a person instead of an electronic shopping cart.
Here's one for $979

The tax you paid would likely have about equalled shipping and transfer fees of buying one online.
I always look online first. A lot of times you can find dealers that are willing to negotiate with you.
But you'll love it, I'm sure. That's a great handgun.

The original deal went south when I purchased the new tac and as he was writing the ticket for $950 on the "in-stock" tac (NIB) when I looked in the bag and it was a CT!!!!! I told him to get me the right pistol before he wrote the s/n's. He went back and found none so he said he'd have to order it and wrote the $950 price down. He called me on Monday and said with the new pricing from HK he could not do the $950 and $1,100 was the best.
I do want to hold the pistol I plan to buy in my hands beforehand...I am just funny that way... He just called and said it had arrived...I might drive up there tomorrow and get it...I AM STILL PSYCHED! (We are going that way Friday afternoon (An hour away) but I don't know if I can wait that long!

My experience after doing the whole shopping thing, finding the right deal is all about location and timing. My range wanted in the upper $900's for a full-size 9mm, more for compact IIRC.
Often times you will find, particularly with online stores, advertising does not match their stock. I found this with CDNN, since they print their catalog I expected better, but was still disappointed.
So for a brand new gun, I wouldn't really be disappointed with that deal. As for new vs. used, that's up to you.
Congratulations on the acquisition and HK money pit!!! ;)

Grats on the new USP-T... that's the original gun I wanted, but it's not legal in CA :) I'm sure it will be a great gun.
I'm new to all of this, but I'm slowly learning that shooting is something I want/need to do for the rest of my life. To that end, there's no need for me to rush out and buy too much at one time, although I've already sunk a lot into the HK money pit. I say this as a friendly reminder (mostly at myself) to enjoy things one step at a time.
Wishing you, your HK & your wallet the best.
