Hey, I'm thinking about upgrading my M&P45 to one of the HK45"s. Several of the people I run into at the range have HK's but not 45's. I saw a couple at Gander Mountain and they look and feel pretty good but they didn't have the 45c which I think is the one I'm really interested in. On the HK website they claim the 45's have 30%% less recoil with their special design. What about that? Is the 45c a single stack? That would be great because I like the narrow 1911 type grip that a single stack mag well provides.
Would some of you guy's that own either or both of these pistols give me a little feedback on your impressions of the pistols?
Thanks,

I just bought a HK45c and love the feel of it. It isnt a true single stack and the grip is thicker then the 1911 but it isnt as fat as many double stack 45's such as a Para. Of course you only get 8 rounds as well, so its a trade off. Why they didnt use the same grip as the P30 and HK45 on the HK45c is beyond me. Its a sweet pistol.

Hi Jim, I have the 45c, and it has become my everyday carry, supplanting my USP40c.
I love the way it feels in my hand, and it shoots lights out, and has shot everything I run through it without a hiccup. They've also done a nice job of refining the thumb safety, as well as the mag release.
It is a double stack....I carry the 8rd, with two 10 rounders on my weak side.
For some it may be to big for edc, but in a Kramer IWB it works well for me.
Recoil's not an issue.
My only issue is with the factory sights, and when available I will be switching over to Heinies.
Hope that helped a bit.

The 45c has a much thinner grip than a 1911 in my opinion. It holds 8 rounds and has a shorter grip too. More of a 1.5 stack than double stack.

The 45c grip iseems much shorter than the 45, which seemed extra long to me for a 10 round capacity. I much preferred the 45c and have been very happy with it.

The 45c is the softest shooting .45ACP pistol I've fired and I've shot many of them, including Kimber's, Wilson's, S&W's, Glocks, XD's, etc. I'm not sure on the technical side of how their buffer system reduces recoil or how they figured the 30% number, but the polymer ring around the guide rod spring assembly must somehow give it the recoil reducing tendency. Double taps are a breeze with this pistol and you can shoot it all day long without a hiccup or onset of recoil anticipation. Highly recommended!

I refer to the HK45 as more of a semi-stack, but whatever works for others.
