I shoot the steel plate event at West Walker Sportsman's Club (www.wwsc.org) on the second Saturday of the month April through October, and I also shoot the IPSC/USPSA event at the South Kent Sportsman's Club (www.sksc.org) on the third Saturday of the month April through October. SKSC also holds an IDPA event, which I believe is held on the first Sunday of every month March through October and is for all of us CPL's to hone our abilities.

I would highly recommend the IPSC/USPSA at SKSC and then the steel plate at WWSC. As for the IDPA event, I showed up once but there were so many people that I just left. I'm not sure how it is any more, but I plan to pop out at least once to see if it is ready for me yet by being a little less crowded.

Any body wanna come out and play?

Sorry for the, ummm, delay? It's been more than a year!!!

PM me direct or at (yachky@yahoo.com) with any questions, etc. I just don't check my posts often, who am I kidding - at all. I stumbled across this old one and wasn't expecting any questions. Not that it matters that it's been a year much as WWSC didn't run at all this year. SKSC was were it was at this year and their are still a couple more events!!! In fact they improved greatly over last year!!

What do you need to do to be eligable? Um, nothing as long as your pistol is a 9mm or bigger! WWSC will let you run a 22 if you want and I often do at least for fun after the event. Just bring your ability to be safe, have fun and meet new people! My advice for your first time is to first read what you can at the clubs website (i.e. the USPSA stuff - lots of rules) and show up with your gun and at least 200 rounds. Plan on $20 at SKSC and $10 at WWSC. DO NOT be intimidated by the USPSA rules though. Even though there are lots of them they are easy, or just do what I did and show up and say I DON'T KNOW and somebody will help you out who knows. You'll most likely even be Range Officer and scoring your very first time at the USPSA events, but after you see how it's done of course.

My HK buddy and I got to compete last weekend against two GLOCK guys (Rich, Brian - thanks guys that was fun) and I would say it was a tie. There were only five of us in our group it was a great time!

I'm a member at South Kent and shoot USPSA when I can. It's a great club!
