Maybe no LEM for the P30

Just got off the phone with HK. It seems that they may NOT be offering LEM kits for the P30 but will have them for the 45c. They hope to have them sometime in the next 60 days.

Interesting side note: Jeff told me that what some were thinking was finish erosion on the slide release and other controls was in actuality the result of people handling them that changes their color. I guess it's a chemical reaction since these parts are of a different alloy composition than the rest of the weapon.

I didn't think there was going to be a LEM kit for the P30, for the same reason there is no LEM kit for the P2000's that have the rear decocker, basically the same fire control set up.

I had contacted HK some time ago--when still in Sterling, VA--and they told me at the time that for my P2000 Variant 2 LEM (.40 S&W) there was no way to convert it to Variant 3 (decocker), and vice versa. I would have to simply purchase a Variant 3 with decocker if I wanted that Variant. This is very consistent with what LCSO264 posted above.

Apparently there are enough differences, at least in the P2000 and I assume in the P30 as well, to prevent conversion to/from the LEM. Pretty much have to buy the Variant "straight up" that you want.

I wonder if in the future HK may offer a P30 LEM from the factory versus the current decocker? I actually prefer the Variant 3 with decocker button.

Actually they had told me last month that they were going to have a kit for the P30 now they don't know for sure.

Just my opinion but with all the people that like the Lem I think it will be here soon.They do make it it's just a matter of time before it gets here.That's what I'm waiting for.I guest we'll see.

This is true. Only LEM variant tha can be converted to V3 is V0 (LEM with spurred hammer and de-cocker - euro-version).

But V3 can be converted to LEM (with or without de-cocker button). How to do that I described over this board more than once.

I wouldn't have P30 LEM ;) (I used parts from my P2000 to do that, while I converted my P2000 to V3 and sold it).

I received an email from Hk Customer Service Friday indicating that they should have the LEM kits for the 45c and factory-made P30 LEMs by sometime this summer. I don't think there will be a conversion for the P30 but the email did state the P30 LEM would be available. See response to my email concerning P30 LEM availability below:

"The LEM version is expected later this summer."
