Looking to purchase my first HK. Kinda narrowed it down to these two.
Anyone have a comparison/opinions?

Welcome to the forum,

I have a P2K (P2000) and have handled the USPC. I think it comes down to what type of controls you prefer. Both are available with the LEM trigger, however, you will not be able to carry a P2K that is DA/SA cocked and locked. Also the decocker will be at the rear of the pistol near the hammer on a DA/SA P2K. As far as overall design goes, I think the P2K slightly edges out the USP because of its ergonomics. I would go P2K 9mm with LEM trigger, but that is just my opinion.

Its hard to make a bad decision when buying HK:)

Just got my first HK...P2000 LEM 9mm. I've shot a USPc before and the P2000 definitely beats it out in my opinion. I'd go with that.

Last summer I was looking for a carry piece b/c my USPf9 DA/SA was just too big. I went to Sportsman's Warehouse with the idea of getting the USP compact in DA/SA. The sales guy brought out the USPc9 and the P2K9. After fondling both, the sales guy let me change the backstraps on the P2K. I tried them all and the 'Medium' was the best fit for me, it felt much better in my hand than either the USPc9 or my own USPf9.

For carrying, I liked the idea of no safety on the P2K. I also liked where the decocker was placed. I could not discern any difference in the trigger pulls of either gun in SA or DA; both were more than satisfactory.

I didn't even ask the prices, I just said "I'll take the P2000."

Since then I've practiced pretty seriously (for IDPA), firing at multiple silhouette targets; drawing, firing the first shot DA, then the next two in SA. I am becoming very skilled w/the P2000 and it hasn't taken but a few hundred rounds.

Last Saturday, in my first IDPA match, I did extremely well, putting the great majority of my shots in the -0 areas and I didn't kill a single hostage! On one stage I went 'clean' (all shots in the -0 area). It really stays on target for quick follow-up shots.

For sure, the P2000 held up it's end. I couldn't be happier.

+1 P2000 LEM

It's way more comfy and easier to conceal.

I'd go with P2000 simply because if feels better to me, however if I was going to carry with one in the chamber I'd go with the USP because of the manual saftey. I have however noticed on my P2000 the firing pin lock doesn't disengage until the trigger is pulled past the 2/3 mark. In light of this I'm confident this thing will not fire unless the trigger is pulled and the DA is a really heavy pull.

Most people seam to prefer the LEM but being a newb I just don't shoot very well with it. I prefer the V3 DA/SA. I am a bit puzzled on the comment about not being able to carry the P2000 V3 cocked and locked? I understand the no safety thing but this seamed to imply that caring the LEM cocked and locked is better some how. I'm not comfortable with carrying either with one in the chamber; however, I'm way more open to the idea with the V3 because of the heavier trigger pull.

If you want a 9mm, I say P2000. If you said a .40, I would have said USPc. I prefer the heavier gun for the bigger round. The P2000 9mm LEM I shoot is a very nice gun that would be a pleasure to carry. It is alot lighter then my USPc.

... I'm not comfortable with carrying either with one in the chamber;....

Then all your carrying is an ammo storage device. Carry with one in the pipe with confidence or not at all.
