These two pistols have the same trigger system (DA/SA). However, the HK45 feels much more tight, crisp, smooth, and has less creep. Is there any plans to offer a modification for the P30 that would give the same trigger action that the HK45 enjoys?

Ironicly I shoot the HK45 better than the P30 even with the stronger recoil of the .45 round. This is what prompted me to examine the triggers closely. After much back and forth I found that the P30 trigger feels a bit less clean than the HK45. Not bad, but the HK45 feels much more solid when I pull it. The P30 has a bit of creep and play in it that feels less refined.

Anyway, both are great but I'd love to have a P30 with the crisp trigger of the HK45.

I agree with you on the difference in triggers between both guns. The HK45 is much better as it uses match trigger parts. I would love the P30's trigger to have the same feel. The P30 trigger is spongy while the HK45 has a crisp feel to it. The reset on the HK45 is also much shorter then on the P30. A member on the board has stated that HK told him they are working on a improved trigger for the P30 but lets not hold our breath for it to come out. You can always send the P30 to Bruce Gray and let him work his magic on the gun which I am sure would be a nice improvement over the stock trigger.

Yeah, I was just wondering if there was any announcements or plans I may have missed regarding this. Seems like HK is working on it, but no official availability timeframe. I'll keep on the lookout though.

On a related note I just met someone who uses Glocks all day. They handled an HK45 and say that it feels clunky. What do you say to these ppl? just "cya later idiot?" lol

No really, he honestly says that the HK45 is junk and didn't like the trigger, but this same dude thinks that Glock is the best gun ever. What would you say to these people? He wouldn't even give it a fair chance and try shooting it. IMO that's someone either hiding the fact that their Glock is a plastec paperweight or they hate anything they can't afford.

I dunno...I found it weird.

I have owned both guns. I sold my HK45 and still have my Glocks. Money is not an issue. HK pistols are not for everyone.

I really don't get it either. I swap pistols with a lot of people, and the carryover from my HK's has enabled me shoot nearly as well with everything from a 1911 to an M&P. Everything but a Glock, that is. That trigger is funky.

1911s top all in the trigger department but I find Glock triggers to be fine for fast, accurate shooting. If someone grew up exclusively on either one I'd not expect them to fall in love with ANY USP-based H&K pistol. The DA trigger is way too heavy and long but at least the HK45 ergos allow better leverage so it's easier to pull that trigger. It's also smoother than the USP45. So while it's markedly better than the previous models it's still perceived as "difficult" or "horrible" for those used to single action and Glock's "safe-action" designs.

While I admit that the 1911, Glock, P226 with SRT trigger and M&P make "better" carry/IDPA guns due to their trigger actions I still have a love affair with H&K.

It's all good.

carry in SA + safety then (HK45 offers this method of carry).

I've owned a glock too, sold it when I found the P30. I dunno, I can see someone disliking the trigger but saying the gun isn't comfortable...how can anything be more comfortable than the new HKs?

I'm not trying to say that you can't dislike the HK45 but I guess it just seemed like someone looked at it and said "It's a $900 dollar polymer pistol with a heavy trigger". Which was, IMO an unfair assessment. Just wondering how others would handle that, I mean I don't go around and tell everyone that a Glock or M&P is a toy gun, although I don't care for them.

Maybe, just maybe their hands aren't identical to yours...

Then they need the other backstrap :640:

I'm only teasing you, but when it comes down to it I'll never be owning another Glock after holding the P30 in my hand.

Just a quick question again to throw out there. The HK45c, is the trigger more closely compared to the P30 or the full size HK45? Considering buying one in the coming months and was a bit curious. I have not found a shop locally that I can try it at yet. The one shop that has them in stock doesn't like people dry firing away at their guns so they put a zip tie through the barrel and out the extractor port to rack the slide back just slightly which in turn disengages the trigger.

Both the P30 and HK45c feel the same in DA but the HK45c has a nicer SA trigger. The HK45c trigger feels more crisp (does not have that spongy feel to it) and lighter then the P30. It also has a shorter reset. Overall the trigger feels closer to the HK45 then the P30. The HK45c is just as accurate as the HK45 and feels great even without the "spidey-grips". Get one as you will be VERY happy with it.

Now the question becomes, HK45c or P30 for CCW?

So much to choose from...too bad I can't be like the old cowboy movies and wield 2 pistols and take out 2 guys at once. :44:

The trigger reset on the P30 is nowhere as nice (nor as short) as the HK45, or the USPs for that matter. The best HK trigger I have is my LEM. Now, the trigger reset on a Glock with polished trigger bar & a 3.5 Lb. connector can only be surpassed by a 1911 with a trigger job. That's not including the SA trigger on a S&W wheelgun. NOT trying to start anything, just my 2 cents worth, just my opinion.

I like the XD trigger better than the Glock, and I like DA/SA better than DAO anyway. :6200:

Just was wondering if there was any news on a refined DA/SA trigger for the P30. Seems like not yet, maybe in the next months.
