My Question: If I had purchased sights which required a six o'clock hold, how many centimeters or inches high should my shots be at 25 yards? If there's a chart I can be referred to, I'd appreciate that too.
Here's the background info:
I've recently run into a problem with my USP40c. The Pistol Shot point of aim, point of impact (POA/POI) out to 50 yards with factory sights.
I purchased a set of Novak night sights, installed them and noticed my shots were almost 6 inches high at 25 yards. I'm a Firearm's instructor and on the SWAT team at my department, utilizing a Sig P220 and have always fired POA/POI without issue, 25 yards using NRA bullseye, no problems.
I sent my pistol to Novak who promptly responded saying I couldn't shoot and my barrel was all carboned up, definitely not the case, but they said they changed my front sight post for me. Don't know why they'd do that if the problems was with my shooting, allegedly.

Im about the same as you in profession, and put novaks on my USP F and it shot 36" high at 25 meters. I called novak to explain the issue and they refused to: take the sights back, look at my gun, test my gun, send me a different set of sights on exchange. I explained that the gun shot perfectly tight groups before the change, and that after it was high and they didnt want to hear about it.
I was told that
a- I could not shoot.
b- to send my gun to Hk to check barrel/slide alignment
c- there was absolutely no possible way their sights could be off.
I still get hot about it, because Im out the money of the sights. Novak absolutely had the worst customer service Ive run into in a while, and left me out the money of junk sights they sent me. Ill never do business with novak again.

Sorry to bring up a old thread, but did any of you rectify this problem yet?
I just installed Novaks on my USP9C and the POI is 3-4 inches higher than where I'm aiming.
I had the stock Meps on before and the POI was always POA.
Is it even worth it to complain to them and have them say I do not know how to shoot? I would like to get a higher front sight if anything. I do love the looks of the Novaks.

No, John(?) Novak refused to speak with me after my second attempt at calling him.
He left the conversation at "Im not going to argue with you about this. You can send the sights back and Ill charge you a restocking fee of 20% or you can learn how to shoot your gun, but there's nothing wrong with my sights." And he hung up the phone.
I remain out the money sent to Novak for the sights and junked the rear that was out of spec. The stock trijicon front I kept in the event I need a replacement.
I originally bought the sights because of his stellar reputation in the shooting world and his sight design and ended up sorely disappointed. I sincerely hope people who read this think twice about buying something from him.

Thanks for the update Kurt. I sent them an e-mail in hopes that they will send me a higher front sight, or a lower rear sight. I suppose I can deal with it for now, but it's quite frustrating that I have to aim substantially lower to actually hit where I want to.
I took a picture to illustrate the poor design. The rear sight is just way too high. As you can see, the gun has to be angled higher just to align the sights.

I bought Novak Sights for my USP Compact 9mm a few years ago. They work ok. I just like the fact that my gun looks different. But they did screw up my order and sent me regular Trijicon NIght Sights at first. They were quick to correct the problem after a nasty letter.
ninja, I live in Monterey Park and have a USP Compact 9mm with well sighted in Novaks. Would you like to meet up and compare? Perhaps bring a caliper? I live in Monterey Park.

I did the same thing you did with that measurement and told him that, and offered to send him a picture of the level. He just didnt want to hear it. You could clearly see the rear sight assembly, with the naked eye, sitting higher than the rear. He told me "well, you have to get the bullet to rise somehow dont you??" At that point I was irritated and replied "and you are telling me *I* need to learn how to shoot *MY* gun???" I wasnt mad at the first onset of this problem. Manufacturing errors occur, thats just the way life is sometimes. I called him thinking it was no big deal, he could take a look at the gun or replace the rear sight and we would be good to go. I wasnt mad until faced with the obstinate position he took on "no warranty"
He really was a total douche. I called trijicon about getting a taller front sight, and they said they could even take mine back and give me the new one, but the tech department said it was only enough to compensate for a few inches at 25m, and they only had 2 post sizes. Come to find out, I already had the taller of the two, so I was out of luck.

wow this kind of stuff boils my blood when it comes to any type of product or service...(being had by the balls..basically, and left with no alternative)
makes me want to email novak expressing interest in the product and asking if they do for uspc .40 and then turning around in another email and saying well after looking you up on the internet I heard your customer service sucks and your sights are actually off...so go screw yourself!
Think I might go do it too...

I'll be calling Novak tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a taller front sight. I measured the rear and it is exactly 5cm high, while the front sight is about 4cm. I just need a front sight that is only 1cm higher...hopefully that won't be a problem.
Kurt, can you measure your front sight? I wanted to call Trijicon too, but I wanted to make sure I had their tallest front sight already.

My trijicon is a "size 6" i cant remember if it was 4 and 6 or 6 and 8 now, but mine is a 6. If you look at the top of the sight, under the trijicon logo will be the size. "06" is mine, for example.

Got my USP-CT back from Trussville last week with the Novak's & a light LEM. Novak shipped the 07 Trijicon front when I ordered. Was at the range Sunday & it ran POA/POI once I started getting used to the LEM (25 yards, b/a).
Before ordering I did end up going back & forth on the phone with Novak to make sure the sights would clear a can. Very time consuming but not disappointing.

Just an update. I ended up just getting a new pair of Trijicons. I took a picture to illustrate the difference between the Novak and Trijicon rear sights. Both front sights are the same height by the way.

I'm trying to sell the Novaks to some airsoft people. Since they can adjust the poi, the rear height shouldn't be a problem for them I think.

Novaks are way over rated for a number of reasons. The big problem I have with them is you can not use the Novak rear sight during one handed manipulations. People say that they are snag proof, but only going into the holster where there is no race. And I will agree that Novak's customer service leaves a bit to be desired.

Mine was the same. And yet clearly, you and I are having problems with our aim and our barrel/slide alignment and our shooting technique. Send a copy of this thread and photo to novak. gurney@budsgunshop.com Ill be interested to see if they have the stones to own up to their piss poor manufacturing.
